Content and Video Specialist At Medical Teams International

The Content and Video Specialist is responsible for helping to create and maintain a consistent flow of quality storytelling, photo and video content from Medical Teams programs to meet our fundraising content needs. This role will accomplish this through effective story editing, upholding our organizational photo and consent policies, digital asset management, video editing, and serving as an informational liaison between our programs staff and marketing. This role will report to the Global Content and Video Producer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and edit inbound story interviews for content, grammar, and consistency from domestic and global content collectors, ensuring the story and information are complete for approvals. Return edit requests to collectors as needed.
  • Create and distribute story and content feedback reports to country content staff for them to glean insights on content usage and improvements for the future.
  • Create and distribute content request packages for assigned countries.
  • Participate in content check-ins with country communications officers, seeking information and input for marketing content as well as planning content requests for the upcoming quarter.
  • Uphold deadlines in project management system for the country communications officers content package submission twice per quarter.
  • Organize inbound content requests from internal stakeholders in marketing, development, and other content-dependent parties for your specific region of countries.
  • Attend and collect stories of impact and images at a U.S.-based clinics.
  • Manage and submit requests for additional photography gear from country staff, updating the camera gear log.
  • Track quotes for content usage from stories and video transcripts.
  • Collaborate with country comms staff to create field-based video content for social, PR, and other timely video needs.
  • Update Marketing SharePoint with relevant content as needed.
  • Add subtitles to videos.
  • Update inbound videos with correct branding.
  • Using branded photo and video content, edit short form social media and ad videos for our digital channels.
  • Conduct video brand checks and provide feedback to ensure brand fidelity while supporting country communications staff.
  • Support with live video production shoots as needed.
  • Uphold Medical Teams photo policies with review checks on internal presentations, communications channels (SharePoint, Teams, emails), and other inbound consent check requests.
  • Coordinate content trips as assigned, carrying out trip planning logistics.
  • Assist with video trip planning as needed/assigned.
  • Write blog posts for the blog team.
  • Act as the informational liaison between Field Ops and your assigned countries for marketing, facilitating fact checking and content review requests.
  • Assist with building out video training production and editing on consent, photography, video editing, video branding, and story collection to enhance content collector training.
  • Create engaging posts for global content community to engage content collectors.
  • Build out content collection and policies manual in SharePoint, organizing technical reference documentation on photo and consent policies, content collection how-tos, and video brand reference documents into an easily digestible format.
  • Build and disseminate SharePoint content updates to internal staff to improve internal storytelling and information sharing.
  • Process inbound digital asset management system (DAM) content adding appropriate metadata, correcting photos with the Adobe app, and brand checking social and other video submissions for accuracy.
  • Manage photo release files.

Other Duties:

  • Serve as deployable Communications Officer in domestic response, as needed.
  • Optional: Serve as an HQ-based photographer for in-house photography needs.
  • Support safeguarding of program participants and employees through promoting an environment of awareness and upholding the code of conduct provisions of Medical Teams Protection from Sexual Exploitation & Abuse, Child & Vulnerable Adult protection, and harassment-free workplace policies.
  • Utilize volunteers when appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, LICENSES, & CERTIFICATIONS

  • BA/S or equivalent in a relevant field required Journalism, marketing, or related field.

EXPERIENCE

  • 3 years experience in video editing
  • 2 years experience in digital asset management
  • 3 years experience in writing for a variety of audiences
  • International travel experience is strongly preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Knowledge:

  • Animation/motion design (optional this is a plus)
  • Video editing
  • Writing/Editing

Skills:

  • Adobe Creative Suite proficiency (Premiere, Lightroom, After Effects)
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Digital Asset Management experience
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong intercultural skills are required
  • Multiple languages spoken is a plus (English, Spanish, Amharic, Swahili, French are spoken in our operating areas)
