Background

The Sponsorship Communications Hub consists of a centralised team responsible for the coordination and production of sponsorship communications and content in print and digital media. The role includes managing projects at a global level to create communication processes and content for sponsors by extracting content from our program areas, improving it, and distributing it to all Plan offices worldwide. The Hub refines the child sponsorship journey by producing high quality, impact-driven content with an increasing shift towards a digitised child sponsorship experience, making it more “real” and transparent in a development context to increase sponsor engagement.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage resources in the hub and supporting offices worldwide to achieve the goal of creating donor-friendly sponsorship communications
  • Create various types of communication items in line with agreed requirements and business rules
  • Quality control and qualitative feedback of raw material provided by program countries in the field
  • Management of external contractors who may be based in different parts of the world, including copywriters, etc
  • Proofreading and editing of submitted refined written content from contractors and various global sponsorship offices
  • Contribute to budget planning processes of the hub, identifying needs and resource implications
  • Develop a common understanding of the needs in the different fundraising countries, and to negotiate agreed requirements between all
  • Establishing and facilitating collaboration across all global fundraising offices by focusing on relationship building and sharing of best practice
  • Continuous improvement of processes and systems linking international sponsorship managers, enabling them to share content more efficiently
  • Manage planning, deadlines, and risk management. Develop communication plans and KPIs as well as reporting mechanisms to provide transparency and accountability and demonstrate achievement of objectives
  • Collaborate on the technical development of unique online content creation tools and platforms

Qualification & Experience

  • Proficient / Advanced English skills, especially written and verbal
  • A degree in communication science, development communication, journalism, digital media or similar
  • A team player, with excellent time management skills and enjoys collaborating with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience in producing communications for marketing and retention purposes
  • Some Experience in commissioning design, print and interactive content, data management systems
  • Interest in developing new digital communication initiatives and the tools required
