What it is we do? FCA’s 700 + experts located in 14 country office realize our mission: Action for Human Dignity.
What will you do? As a Financial Controller, you will monitor the finances of our program activities outside of Finland, working closely with the Finance teams of our Country Offices and our finance team in Helsinki. This position will be focusing on our programs implemented in response to the current Ukrainian crisis.
You will work in our Global Controlling Unit, part of Finance and Operations’ Support Department, at the FCA Service and Accountability Centre (SAC). The position can be located in our Helsinki office, with partial remote work, or from another East European country.

Duties and responsibilities:
·Support to/and monitoring of the financial management of the Ukraine emergency response and other FCA projects/entities
·Provision of financial oversight of partners and FCAs operations
·Practical implementation and development of internal controls
·Ensuring compliance with relevant internal, donor and statutory requirements
·Support and advice on project budgeting and official and adhoc internal and official reporting
·Approval of project funds disbursements
·Cooperation with donors, partners and other relevant stakeholders
·Participation in the development of financial management
- Induction of new employees
- Preparation of monthly closures
·Participation in Partner assessments guidelines and process descriptions for international work
- Participation in the training and development of financial management/project management systems
- Monitoring of the revenue and spending of the Ukraine fund
Competence and Personal Requirements:
- Business/Economics Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree with strong relevant work experience in a global and complex environment / Majoring in accounting will be seen as an asset
- independent and active approach to work, analytical, problem-solving skills
- diligence and accuracy
- Experience in independent financial management tasks, preferably part of which is acquired in an international organization
- Ability to understand the impact of the operating environment on the organization and supervision of financial management
- Ability to observe, analyze and interpret activities on the basis of internal and external financial information to support decision-making
- Understanding the overall picture of project planning and reporting
- An independent and active approach to work, analytical problem-solving ability
- Team spirit and service orientation across organizational boundaries
- Good Excel skills
- Ability to adopt new financial management systems, Unit 4 experience is an added advantage
- Ability to make effective use of the financial management systems in both Helsinki and the operating countries and to train others in their use
- Fluent oral and written knowledge of Finnish and English. Knowledge of Ukrainian or Russian will be seen as an asset.
This is a full time position for 12 months, starting as soon as possible. The compensation is based on FCA Compensation System and depends on prior work experience. FCA’s benefits package includes comprehensive health care and staff capacity building opportunities.
