Convergences

Launched in 2008, Convergences is a platform for reflection, mobilization and advocacy that promotes the Sustainable Development Goals  (SDGs) and the fight against poverty, exclusion and climate change in both developed and developing countries. Composed of more than 300 partner organizations from all sectors, the association acts to stimulate reflection and action, disseminate good practices and encourage the co-construction of innovative partnerships with a strong societal impact.

Convergences is active on several themes : sustainable development, international solidarity, inclusive and solidarity finance, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), social entrepreneurship, social and solidarity economy, measurement of social and environmental impact, fight against climate change.

Convergences relies on more than 300 partner organizations – public, private, solidarity, academic and media actors – represented within its Working Groups, to develop the following activities:

  • The 3Zero World Forum , the highlight of Convergences’ activities, brings together several thousand participants, speakers and experts from around the world in Paris each year to collectively develop solutions to the economic, social and environmental challenges of our century.
  • The international 3Zero Forums reflect national or regional issues related to the achievement of the SDGs and the construction of a 3Zero world. Each edition brings together between 300 and 500 participants.
  • Studies and publications published every year: the Social Entrepreneurship Barometer, the Sustainable Solutions Barometer, the Impact Finance Barometer, and surveys such as “CAC 40 companies and Social Business” , “100 solutions for the world of tomorrow” . The activity is also deployed internationally.
  • Projects and events dedicated to professionals (conferences, workshops, programming seminars), or aimed at young people throughout the year: aperitifs and Youth We Can! events via the 1Planet4All project , particularly on climate issues.

Acted Convergences

Acted’s headquarters was established in Paris in 2000 in order to coordinate the organization’s interventions on a global scale. Today, the headquarters is composed of 110 people in the HR, Finance, Programs, Audit, Security, Logistics & Systems and Communication departments. These departments provide support to the 42 Country Directorates. The headquarters also serves as a focal point for Acted’s Management, namely the General Manager, the Development Director and the fifteen members of the Board of Directors.

Main role and responsibilities

The Event Programming and Mobilization Officer will report to the Deputy Director in charge of operations. He/she will mainly be responsible for preparing the programming, in terms of content and sessions, of the September 2021 3Zero World Forum and will coordinate the co-construction and animation approach of the Convergences multi-stakeholder network that feeds the programming of the World Forum.

He/she will have to carry out the following tasks:

1.Preparation of Convergences events:

  • 3Zero World Forum
  • Convergences Events in France
  • Convergences Events Abroad

2.Animation of the reflections of the Convergences platform

3.Fundraising, development and monitoring of projects linked to the organization of events in France and co-construction activities

4. Contribution to Convergences operations and to community life

Qualifications and skills required

  • Knowledge / interest in the sector and themes of sustainable development and the Social Solidarity Economy
  • Master’s level training in a relevant field such as international relations, development, political science or law
  • Previous professional experience in a related field
  • Knowledge of sustainable development issues and ability to understand the needs and motivations of diverse and varied partners
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in French and English (bilingual candidates appreciated and other languages ​​is a plus)
  • Skills in summarizing and reporting on exchanges.
  • Skills in group facilitation and interpersonal skills with a diversity of stakeholders
  • Autonomy, rigor, organizational skills and ability to make suggestions
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment

Terms

  • Monthly net salary: 2200 – 2400 euros net monthly
