Context
ASAD has its main headquarters in the city of Granada, Spain, from where it coordinates the execution of cooperation projects in Guatemala, Colombia, the Dominican Republic and Guinea-Bissau, at the same time that it accompanies the execution of the Education and Social Action projects that are developed in Andalusia. The organization has been working in Guinea-Bissau since 2007, especially in the areas of education, basic infrastructure development, entrepreneurship and food sovereignty. ASAD is currently executing projects in two regions of the country, Bolama and Bafatá.
Job functions
- General coordination of the project, defining and monitoring the mechanisms, spaces, tools necessary for the execution of the planned activities and the scope of the proposed results, guaranteeing the measurement of indicators and the availability of verification sources.
- Coordination and supervision of expatriate and local personnel in charge of the project and technical assistance whose hiring is required for the correct fulfillment of activities.
- Design and monitoring of the project’s operational plan and schedule.
- Establishment and monitoring of agreements with local and regional authorities and with local partners, ensuring the good quality of inter-institutional relations and compliance with the commitments reached.
- Creation, implementation and monitoring of information recording systems.
- Carrying out internal and external monitoring and justification reports, according to the regulations of the financing agency and ASAD.
- Formulation of projects capable of being financed by public funds or by other financing entities.
Essential requirements:
- Higher university degree (specialization in engineering, architecture or related career will be valued).
- University specialization in development cooperation.
- At least 3 years of development cooperation work experience preferably in sub-Saharan Africa.
- At least 2 years of work experience in project coordination.
- High level of Spanish (C1 or mother tongue) and excellent writing skills.
- High level of English (C1 or mother tongue) and excellent writing skills.
- Medium / high level of Portuguese ( B2 ) and good oral communication skills.
- Excellent office package handling specifically Word and Excel.
- Excellent Drive handling and Google work tools.
- Complementary university education on gender and / or women’s human rights.
- Commitment to human rights and specifically to gender equality.
- Commitment to ASAD values.
- Flexibility and adaptability, as well as working in short periods.
- Good communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Working conditions
- Position: PROJECT COORDINATOR ( full working day ).
- Workplace: Bubaque Island, with frequent trips to Bisáu.
- Salary range: 27,000-45,000 € annual gross ( Based on salary tables, it will depend on the experience and training of the selected candidate / o )
- Conditions: Cooperating and life DKV medical insurance.
- Diets and transfers: all the diets and transfers necessary for the fulfillment of the project activities will be covered by ASAD according to internal tables and justification regulations.
- Duration: indefinite contract subject to the availability of project funds, with a trial period of 6 months.
- Incorporation: December 2023 – January 2024.
