MAGENTA is a leading Social and Behavioural Change (SBC) Research and Communications agency that specializes in understanding human decision-making processes in order to design communications solutions for positive change in fragile and development settings. This position is an exciting opportunity to be part of the freshly established MAGENTA’s creative department. An ideal candidate will have an advertising agency or marketing communication department background with focus on conceptual writing. Passionate about understanding behaviours, social, cultural trends and tensions, and communication at large. The copywriter works under the guidance of the creative director. She/he will be working with the creative director and the graphic designers as a team and contribute building the creative reputation of Magenta.
Responsibilities
The copywriter will be responsible for servicing MAGENTA programmes team, marketing team, Business development team and Magenta Academy. Key roles and responsibilities include:
Delivering copy excellence
· Developing insightful, relevant, engaging copy in Arabic and English and communications concepts for a range of public and private sector clients. The copywriter will work with the range of personalities associated with the project management process in a collaborative and inspiring way to share concepts, copy and developed final output.
o Collaborating with the creative director and the designers to generate fresh and innovative communication concepts and engaging through the line communication assets such as
o Naming, programs/brands claims and signatures, Comm concepts, Headlines and body text, informative literature/text, Edutainment, TV, radio scripts, Digital campaigns assets, Editing video/audio.
· Collaborating with Programme Managers and Marketing team to obtain knowledge of the clients’ requirements. This includes understanding data, research and insights presented to her/him to identify what concepts and copy solutions will resonate with the audiences.
· Participate in research sessions, creative sessions with team and clients to develop meaningful, innovative, and actionable creative solutions.
· Guarding MAGENTA’s identity/tone of voice and values.
Management and Oversight
· Keeping creative work deadlines.
· Keeping timesheets updated
· Providing quality assurance of deliverables.
Representation
· Present and rationalize own ideas and copy solutions to creative director.
· Present and rationalize own ideas and copy solutions to project managers and clients.
· Keep updated with communication trends in all sectors and categories.
· Passionately contribute to the creative reputation of Magenta!
Requirements & Competencies
· 5+ years of experience in communication, advertising, or marketing.
· Experienced handling communication projects from brief to production.
· Degree in journalism, sociology/psychology/anthropology, or communication.
· Proven creativity and awareness of current trends in communication/advertising to generate innovative and through the line communication ideas and writing.
· Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
· Extensive knowledge of Microsoft office 365.
· Basic knowledge of Adobe creative suite (premiere, final cut) + used to work in an environment using SharePoint, Teams, Planner.
· Excellence in paying attention to details and insuring copy/text correctness.
· Fluency in English and Arabic
Working Conditions
· The copywriter will be working on MacBook Pro with Microsoft office.
· Working hours: 8.30 to 5.30 + one hour lunch break.
· May involve working late and on weekend occasionally.
