Country Director – Peru At Help in Action

Position objective:

  • Lead the development of the presence of Ayuda en Acción in Peru and direct, together with the management and regional team at headquarters and in the country, the development of the programs and the organization of the equipment and resources necessary to fulfill the objectives of the strategy. of the country, as well as the identification, planning (strategic and operational), supervision and evaluation of the different Aid in Action programs in Peru.

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of the Country Strategy in Peru, ensuring direct contribution to the Institutional Action Aid Strategy.
  • Coordinate and monitor the management of the National Office in Peru, guiding the teams, ensuring coherence, collaboration and learning and the achievement of the objectives set in the different lines of work included in the Country Strategy, as well as compliance with current legal regulations and the application of institutional regulations.
  • Lead in the development of strategic alliances with entities from the public and private spheres, both nationally and internationally, in order to promote and participate in the design of a project portfolio and participate in the formulation of projects to present to financiers. Designate country resources for the preparation of proposals requested by the areas of corporate financing, the Regional Hub. Lead the identification of new initiatives and opportunities that respond to the identified needs of the country strategy, as well as design innovative initiatives to present to donor calls. public and private.
  • Design and implement a financing plan and report to the person in charge and/or to Financing (corporate) the map of identified financiers, the proposals to be presented or presented and the status of each call, as well as request collaboration or resources for the preparation of proposals. .
  • Advise and monitor projects on relative technical, financial and management aspects, developing and promoting relationships with local partners and other cooperation actors in Peru.
  • Represent Ayuda en Acción within the framework of the alliance of European organizations, Alliance2015, both in the country and at the regional level to fulfill the objectives set at the level of Colombia and Latin America. Likewise, represent Ayuda en Acción before national and international organizations, organizations, networks and coordination spaces in Colombia.

Knowledge and experience:

  • Experience of at least 10 years of work in the field of development cooperation and humanitarian action, of which 5 years as Director.
  • Experience managing work teams.
  • Experience in the design, implementation and monitoring of strategic plans and programs.
  • Extensive knowledge of the context of Peru and its links with other countries in the region.
  • Knowledge of the legal and fiscal obligations that affect non-profit organizations in the country.
  • Knowledge of development and humanitarian agencies in the humanitarian field and their policies and strategies.
  • Experience in the design of humanitarian programs and projects financed by international donors such as the United Nations System, EU (ECHO-DEVCO), USAID, CIDA, DFID and AECID, among others.

Languages:

  • Inglés: C1 Advanced.
