General context of the project
Present in the DRC since 2010, INTERSOS DRC intervenes in 4 provinces ( Ituri, North Kivu, South Kivu, Haut Uele ) in the protection sector through protection monitoring and in the nutrition and food security sector. INTERSOS is mainly funded by UNHCR, WFP, UNICEF, UNFPA, SV and the humanitarian fund for a portfolio equal to approx. 6.4 million euros.
General position objective
The Financial Coordinator is responsible for the proper technical execution of all the accounting and financial activities of the mission and its projects. In this context, it ensures correct and efficient management of financial resources, in accordance with the procedures of the Organization.
Main responsibilities and tasks
- Work closely with the head of mission to ensure compliance with INTERSOS procedures and donors in a difficult context that requires dynamism to obtain results
- Country and project accounting manager and coordinates the administrative and financial staff of the various provincial offices.
- Assist base administrators and project managers in the preparation and monitoring of project economic and financial plans
- Ensure administration of treasure accounts with particular emphasis on tracking funds transferred and expenditures in the field where strict and constant control is required
- Ensure monthly bank and cash reconciliations
- In charge of ensuring the production of all financial reports in connection with the project managers
- Collaborates with HR to ensure that INTERSOS complies with laws governing labor, social contributions and taxes.
- Development of new projects through the production of budgets
- Collaborate with the CoM in monitoring the financial viability of the mission
- In charge of updating the budget forecasting tool
- Focal point for project audits
- Provide capacity building to finance and program team
- Any other task deemed necessary but not listed above
Profile required
Education
- Have a Bac + 4 level in accounting and business management.
Professional experience
Have professional experience of at least 10 years as a manager in an accounting and financial function in a humanitarian context and 5 years as a country financial controller
Professional requirements

LANGUAGES
- French preferable
- English speaker accepted if previous experience in a similar position
