Country Representative Ethiopia At Austrian Red Cross

The Austrian Red Cross (AutRC) is offering a job opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Country Representative for Ethiopia. The Country Representative (CoRep) has the overall responsibility for the coordination of bilateral cooperation programmes with Ethiopia Red Cross Society (ERCS) in the fields of WASH, Emergency Medical Services and Cash and Voucher Assistance. The CoRep will ensure that the AutRC supported country programme and partnerships are implemented in high quality standards and in line with the AutRC international strategy, donor requirements and guidelines.

Main duties and responsibilities

Representation of AutRC in Ethiopia, networking, and liaising with ERCS and RC movement partners as well as national stakeholders
Planning and management of AutRC programmes at country levels in close cooperation with ERCS and other partners
Strategic planning of AutRC long-term engagement in Ethiopia as well as overall programme coordination
Identification of funding opportunities and consortia in Ethiopia for current and planned AutRC engagement
Lead on proposal development in close coordination with the ERCS and AutRC HQ
Ensure quality implementation of AutRC programmes including optimal use of financial resources and quality reporting in compliance with donor contracts and AutRC rules and regulations
Lead on financial and narrative reporting to AutRC HQ, donors and partners according to project reporting plans, ensuring reports are of a high quality and are submitted in a timely manner
Lead and manage the local delegation in Addis including all administrative aspects

Your profile and skills

At least seven years international humanitarian and/or development experience (NGO, IO or Charity) at programme management level
Adequate management experience in a Red Cross/Red Crescent National Society, IFRC or ICRC is an asset
B.Sc./M.Sc. degree in development studies, project management, public health or other relevant discipline
Excellent project and finance management skills (including budgeting and budget control)
Experience in WASH, CVA or EMS sectors is a strong asset
Ability to work under pressure and lead a multicultural team in complex and demanding environments
Work experience in the East African region is an asset
Very good spoken and written English, German or Amharic languages are an asset
Strongly motivated by humanitarian and development work, and high sensitivity to diversity
