Data and Business Intelligence Specialist

(based in Makati City)

PURPOSE

Offshored in 2011 to Manila, Logistics Data & BI unit monitors the quality of key Logistics transactional data, implementing corrective actions when required. The unit provides the Division and other stakeholders with real-time dashboards, reports and ad hoc analysis that reflects Logistics activities, enabling performance measurement and informed operational decisions.

The Data & Business Intelligence Specialist is an individual contributor role that will support and monitor data management processes within the Logistics Division to enable evidence-based decisions and improvements in the area of data entry, quality, support and analytics.

He/she interacts with application users within the Logistics Division, business owners (BPO), subject matter experts (SME), counterparts from other divisions and requesters of unit’s service.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE

· Develop or update complex dashboard(s) in coordination with Business Interlocutor(s) and as per unit framework

· Share knowledge and coach Tableau creators within the unit

· Promote, monitor and support/coach users of dashboard(s)

· Create/Maintain supporting documentation

· Consolidate requests to prepare dashboard(s) evolutions

· Forward issues related to software use or master data to appropriate counterparts

DATA STEWARDSHIP

· Ensure that Tableau datasources are accurate and refreshed

· Participate in Tableau datasource evolutions and testing

DATA QUALITY MONITORING

· Monitor and perform corrective actions so that data is fit for use by consumers

· Update DQM documentation as per new cases encountered

· Identify potential data quality issues, participate to investigation and develop DQM documentation

· Develop and maintain DQM tools

· Liaise with counterparts for root cause(s) solving

SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES

· When in charge of a specific activity, perform tasks autonomously and pro-actively

· Maintain the activity documentation

· Maintain the related tools updated

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

· Engages in ongoing and continuous feedback and support, particularly for new team members, but also other staff members

· Coaches and advise new team members on internal and external training and development possibilities

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

· Understands and adheres to the Unit’s guiding principles

· Represents the Unit and the Logistics division in an appropriate way during activities and in meetings, and avoids any activity that may reflect negatively on the Unit’s image

· Takes responsibility for their own professional learning and development

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS

· University degree in Economics, Business and Technical sciences background

· Certified training in Business Intelligence software (Preferably Tableau or MS Power BI)

· Working knowledge of SQL language and SQL databases, certification is an asset

· Experience in supply chain processes in international organizations or companies

· Experience in using an ERP system is an asset (preferably JD Edwards)

· Very good command of English, any additional languages an asset

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

· Strong history of continuous education and proven drive to increase skill
