World Vision is currently seeking qualified candidates for the Deputy Chief of Party/Technical position for an anticipated five-year USAID Democratic Republic of the Congo Multi-Sector Nutrition (MSN) Activity.
As the Deputy Chief of Party, you will report to and assist the Chief of Party (COP) in facilitating the design and implementation of the project activities to ensure effective and streamlined management of program operations that are in alignment with USAID’s goals, objectives, and requirements. You will provide leadership and oversight, assist the COP in developing and implementing project plans and activities, conduct program monitoring and progress reporting, implement capacity building initiatives, and support the engagement and mobilization stakeholders for participation in the project. Moreover, you will serve as the Technical Director to provide expert guidance and ensure technical excellence supported by and in coordination with the relevant WV Technical Units.
Requirements include:
- Master’s degree, or its international equivalent in nutrition, public health, food security, or a related area.
- At least 10 years of experience in managing and ensuring technical quality of nutrition programming, with an emphasis on community-based nutrition and health interventions, with at least eight of those years working in the DRC as a senior advisor or staff member.
- Experience developing strategies and performance standards for multisector programs
- Substantial experience managing diverse sub-grantees/sub-contractors, including international non-governmental organizations (INGOs), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and local faith-based organizations (FBO) and private sector companies.
- Experience in program management and administration, financial management, award compliance, and tracking performance and costs via specific funding streams is required. Experience managing projects funded by the U.S. federal government required.
- Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English and French.
- Travel: Ability to travel about 30%
