Position
The Deputy Chief of Party/Senior Advisor will play a strategic leadership role in ensuring the technical implementation of high-impact and proven interventions, and ensuring that the project achieves its objectives and complies with reporting requirements. He/she will assume the responsibilities of the Chief of Party in his/her absence. He/she will ensure coordination between donors, key stakeholders and other implementing partners, and interact with the various government ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs), as well as their representatives in the countries covered by West Africa.
The Deputy Chief of Party will be the Options lead and most senior project manager. He/she will be responsible for the strategic and successful implementation of the Options scope in all implementation countries.
The Deputy Chief of Party will be knowledgeable about current approaches to implementing and delivering activities. He/she will ensure that evidence-based approaches, learning and tools are used to inform the roll-out of scalable reproductive health programs.

Key Experiences
- At least 10 years of professional experience in the design, management and implementation of donor-funded FP/RH projects in West Africa.
- Proven expertise in preparing, planning and scaling innovations and approaches.
- Demonstrated excellence in project learning and documentation, i.e. writing technical notes, publications and other documents related to improving the quality of services.
- Strong experience in external collaboration and negotiation, fostering partnerships between governments and other stakeholders, including at sub-national level, and strengthening national and sub-national capacities.
- Significant experience leading and managing teams based across multiple locations. Prior experience leading a highly skilled, multi-disciplinary team and empowering team members to deliver high quality work.
- Experience managing teams in high risk environments.
Formal Education / Qualifications
- Master’s degree in public health or a relevant field.
