1.OBJECTIVE
The Field Detention Officer (Persons Deprived of Liberty Program – PPL) contributes to the execution and supervision of Detention activities.
2.GENERAL FUNCTIONS
- Implements activities related to Detention under the supervision of his/her direct supervisor.
- Collects, compiles and translates Detention-related information, paying attention to the information management and risk needs of staff.
- Analyzes and collaborates on internal written reports and their programming (as part of institutional exercises). Updates the PROT6 database.
- Helps make internal and external meetings more fruitful (through preparation, participation, reporting and follow-up).
- Collaborates in the design and execution of projects.
- Assists in analyses of the security, socio-economic, cultural and political environment in which the ICRC operates, transmits relevant information to team members and reports on any changes in the situation.
- Prepares and participates in field missions (visits to Penitentiary Establishments in the 3 countries covered by this Delegation) and reports on all aspects relating to them.
- May provide support and supervision to staff in the implementation and monitoring of field projects.
- Promotes a constructive work environment (multidisciplinary approach, good team dynamics) among team members.
- It verifies the sustainability of its activities and implements an archiving system for its work in order to maintain institutional memory.
3.REQUIREMENTS
Essential requirements :
- University degree in the area of Social, Political, Economic Sciences or similar.
- Intermediate level of English.
- Good computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, Teams, etc.).
- Basic administrative knowledge.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including holidays and weekends when required.
Experience:
- Between 04 and 06 years of professional experience in general.
- Between 02 and 03 years of work experience in a field related to this call, such as in the field of social, political or economic sciences.
- Having between 01 and 02 years of experience in a humanitarian organization will be an advantage.
- Experience in project management.
