Position Overview:
Reporting to ISF’s Chief Executive, the Development Manager at ISF Cambodia is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the organization’s fundraising, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) and reporting activities across all stakeholders. This role requires a strategic and results-oriented individual who can effectively engage with trusts, corporate donors, major donors, schools, and individuals to secure and grow funding for ISF’s programmes. The Development Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the sustainability and continued growth of ISF’s initiatives.
Accountability and Relationship:
- Reports to ISF’s Chief Executive;
- The Development Manager is part of the senior management team. S/he will manage a small international team, motivating them to deliver innovative, high-quality content. S/he will work closely and collaboratively with ISF’s Communications and Local Fundraising teams to coordinate overlapping projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fundraising Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with ISF’s mission and funding needs.
- Opportunities Identification: Identify and explore new income streams and opportunities to maximize fundraising potential.
- New Donor Acquisition: Proactively engage and acquire new donors to expand the donor base.
- Donor Engagement: Develop and implement effective donor engagement processes to tailor fundraising approaches and communications to different donor segments e.g. trusts and foundations, individual donors, corporate donors, regular donors etc.
- Donor Relationship Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with current and new donors, including trusts, corporate donors, major donors, schools, and individuals to ensure long-term engagement and support.
- Donor Communication: Work in close collaboration with the Communications Manager to oversee the development and implementation of effective donor communications strategies to promote ISF’s work and impact to donors, supporters, and the public.
- Proposal Development: Lead the development of high-quality funding proposals and grant applications in collaboration with programme staff. Ensure proposals are aligned with donor requirements and effectively communicate ISF’s impact and funding needs.
- Donor Reporting: Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate reports for donors, providing updates on programme outcomes and financial accountability.
- Fundraising Events and Campaigns: Plan and execute fundraising events and campaigns to engage donors and raise funds for ISF. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful event management and fundraising outcomes.
- Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the development team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Set clear goals, monitor progress, provide regular feedback and support for professional development.
- Budget Management: Collaborate with the finance team to develop and manage the development budget, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and alignment with fundraising goals.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in international development, business, marketing, communications or a relevant field
- Native-level English proficiency
- Proven track record of successful fundraising and donor relationship management in the nonprofit sector, particularly with trusts, corporate donors, and major donors
- Strong understanding of fundraising principles, techniques, and best practice
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively engage and inspire diverse stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in proposal development and grant writing.
- Strategic thinking and ability to develop and implement fundraising strategies aligned with organizational goals
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with donors, supporters, and team members
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
- Passion for social development, education, and sports as tools for positive change
Desirable
- CRM (Salesforce) experience
- Knowledge of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning
