Background of the Program

Coalitions for Change (CfC) is a partnership program between the Australian government and The Asia Foundation in the Philippines. CfC supports the formulation and implementation of key policies consistent with the government’s agenda on economic growth, improved governance, and social development.

The program creates spaces for collaboration, strengthening coalitions and networks, civil society, the private sector, the government, academia, and others to bring about transformative change. Working with these motivated groups and individuals, and underpinned with technical and political analysis, CfC successfully delivers reforms that lead to sustainable and inclusive development, improving the lives of Filipinos.

Background of the Assignment

CfC is seeking to hire one (1) consultant with the following details:

CfC DRR – Project Assistant

Period of engagement: Until 30 June 2023, subject to extension

Mode of payment: Level of Effort (LOE) rendered

Level of effort needed: 20 LOE days spread over two (2) months

Area of Assignment: Can attend meetings in Metro Manila

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Take a lead in documenting meetings, organizing data, scheduling meetings, drafting letters, and performing other administrative tasks.
  2. Assist in developing policy papers, briefers, presentations, and other reference materials to be presented to current and potential partners in government and civil society.
  3. Assist in networking and collaborating with government agencies and civil society organizations, coalitions, advocacy groups, and other stakeholders.
  4. Contribute to team discussions and strategy planning.
  5. Assist in developing and distributing advocacy materials to various media platforms,
  6. Maintain collaborative relationships with the CfC Governance team, DRR reform team, and reform network and partners.

Qualifications:

  1. Has at least two years of experience in project management and managing advocacy campaigns.
  2. Effective written and verbal communication skills in both English and Filipino.
  3. Proficient in basic Microsoft Office programs and online platforms.
  4. Preferably has experience in policy research and development, with familiarity with legislative policies, context, processes, and programming.
  5. Preferably with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Communication Arts, Social Work, Community Development, Public Administration, Social Sciences).
  6. Demonstrated experience working in adaptive programs and development entrepreneurship would be an advantage.
