JOB PURPOSE AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITES
The D&I Consultant will work closely with the Regional Human Resources team in Panama and the Latin America and the Caribbean region, with the support of the WFP Diversity and Inclusion Team in headquarters, to promote and implement the global diversity and inclusion strategy across the Latin America and the Caribbean region. The role will include developing the regional strategy, managing initiatives, events and programmes that support the overall objectives and goals of WFP’s diversity and inclusion agenda, with a focus on regional priorities.
• Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive diversity and inclusion strategy for talent acquisition, talent management and retention in the region.
• Communicate the diversity and inclusion strategy and its relationship to WFP’s purpose and values.
• Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures in relation to Diversity and Inclusion.
• Proactively support regional and country specific diversity and inclusion efforts.
• Contribute to strengthening WFP’s brand and Employee Value Proposition (EVP).
• Proactively generate diversity and inclusion content for social media engagement and outreach to attract diverse talent.
• Design and implement concrete actions contributing to making WFP the best place to work for all employees in the region.
• Design and develop capacity building materials and training on diversity and inclusion, in partnership with the WFP Career Management and Diversity and Inclusion teams in headquarters.
• Facilitate and organize regional and country specific events, workshops and programmes to create awareness and encourage participation in the diversity and inclusion agenda.
• Review and provide input for the advancement of diversity and inclusion in existing and future HR policies, procedures and practices.
• Conduct research on regional demographic trends and on demographics underrepresented in WFP in the region, stay abreast of global and regional best practices, and recommend strategies for enhancing diversity and inclusion efforts in the region.
• Regularly monitor and report on diversity and inclusion progress in the region, including disseminating information to relevant stakeholders.
• Participate in organizational and regional joint working groups on diversity and inclusion to infuse cutting edge practices.
• Perform other duties as required.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Advanced university degree in Human Resource Management, Public or Business Administration, Industrial Psychology or other relevant field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience or trainings/courses.A professional certification in Diversity and Inclusion would be an asset.
Experience:
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience working with diversity, equity and inclusion related initiatives and programs.
• Prior experience in the role is required.
• Experience in designing, developing and implementing strategies and plans to promote diversity and inclusion within an organisation.
• Experience developing and implementing D&I/DEI programmes with a focus on Indigenous Peoples, Afro Descendants and people with disabilities in the Latin America and the Caribbean region would be a strong asset.
Languages: Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Fluency in French or in any of the autochthonous or creole languages in LATAM and the Caribbean is an asset.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
• Knowledge and awareness of diversity and inclusion issues and best practices, with an excellent understanding of the theoretical background.
• Awareness of global and cultural issues.
• Ability to compile, maintain and analyse metrics and data, draw conclusions, report and deliver presentations to multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment to meet deadlines and daily requirements.

Duration: 11 months.
Successful candidates will be placed in a roster for two (2) years.
