Type of Appointment : Special short-term graded, six months with possibility of extension

Context:

Under the overall supervision of the Resources Management Officer and direct supervision of the Sr Procurement and Logistics Assistant, the successful candidate will be accountable and responsible for providing driving services and general support to the project staff.

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Drive IOM vehicles in accordance with the security and transportation procedures, ensuring the safe and on-time arrival of staff from/to duty station and/pr destination.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of assigned vehicle to ensure roadworthiness of vehicles, including checking of tires, brakes, engine, oil, fan belt, etc.
  • Perform minor repairs and ensure that vehicles are kept clean and ready for use.
  • Conduct monthly inventory of spare parts and update vehicle maintenance log.
  • Prepare daily log sheet and monthly report summarizing statistics for mileage, fuel consumption, and usage.
  • Ensure compliance to local rules and regulation in driving and in case of involvement in road accidents.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution; or
  • Completed High School degree from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant work experience
  • Valid driving license at the time of application to on-boarding.

Experience

  • Experience with any UN agency or diplomatic missions.
  • Knowledge with UN Security (radio checks, defensive driving) is an advantage

Skills

  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repairs.

Languages

For this position, fluency in English and Tagalog is required.
