Country Background
CRS Philippines was established in 1945 and is the longest-running CRS country program in the world. Currently, CRS Philippines focuses its work on Social Cohesion and Justice, Emergency Response, Disaster Risk and Reduction, Climate Resilience and Homes and Communities. The Philippines country program has more than 100 staff with a main office in Manila and sub-offices in Davao and Cotabato. CRS programs are implemented through a national network of partners, in close coordination with local, municipal and national government agencies. The Country Program also provides support to CRS’s work in Indonesia, Timor Leste, and the Federated States of Micronesia, and has drawn international recognition for the impact, timeliness, and innovation of its programs and approaches.

Job Summary:

The position will provide driving support to the local office. He will deal with a diverse group of visitors at all levels, both internal and external to CRS and, ensure all are treated in a professional and courteous manner.

Roles and Key Responsibilities:

All CRS drivers play a crucial role in maintaining the operational efficiency and reputation of the organization, embodying the values and professionalism of CRS through their conduct and interactions with stakeholders, thereby contributing significantly to the organization’s image and success. At Catholic Relief Services, a driver is expected to fulfill the following roles and responsibilities.

• Always observe defensive driving and drive with the highest proficiency for all CRS staff, delegates, visitors, and project partners.
• Observe all necessary precaution and due diligence when driving and promote safety behaviors when travelling, e.g. wearing of seatbelts.
• Adhere to the driving safety procedures outlined in the CRS Staff Safety and Security Guidelines and abide by all traffic laws, rules, and regulations.
• Ensure that trip request forms are properly filled out before going on a trip.
• Record all trip details in the vehicle logsheet and obtain signatures from passengers or requesting parties.
• Ensure accurate and consistent data entry from the logsheet and trip request to the Vehicle Management System (VMS); ensure on-time submission of VMS reports and proper entry of vehicle maintenance to vehicle logbook.
• Conduct Daily Vehicle Inspection and see to it that the assigned vehicle is always in optimal running condition and promptly attend to any identified mechanical issues or vehicle breakdowns.
• Ensure that LTO registration and the insurance of the assigned vehicle are never out-of-date, and that these are renewed lawfully following LTO-prescribed procedures.
• Provide support to program staff during work activities.
• Undertake other tasks that may be assigned by the supervisor.

Basic Qualifications: (Approximately 5-7 Requirements). List the basic/minimum requirements candidate must have to be considered for the position.

  • High School Graduate or graduate of vocational or technical course or any related degree.
  • Minimum three (3) years driving experience both personal and official capacity
  • Working knowledge on vehicle maintenance
  • Familiar with Catholic Social Teachings and Islamic traditions and beliefs
  • Required Languages – Fluent in Bisaya and Filipino.

Travel – This job will require travel 90% of the time.
