WHAT DO WE DO …

SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association which, for more than 40 years, has provided relief to populations victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters by responding to vital needs, drinking, eating and shelter. Particularly committed to the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death in the world, SI implements through its interventions expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and promotion hygiene but also in the essential aspect of food security and means of existence. Present in around twenty countries, the SI teams – 2,000 people in total made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at headquarters, a few volunteers, etc. – intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultures.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Assignment :

Within the Development and Communication department made up of 22 people, and directly attached to the Press Relations Manager, and in collaboration with the Editorial Coordinator, you will provide support to the communications department for editorial production and press relations.

Main tasks :

Assistance with the production of editorial content and the development of publications

  • Support for the management of editorial projects or publications: data collection, conducting interviews, researching information
  • Writing: articles, publications, web content, press releases, press kits, press review, etc.
  • Editorial secretariat: proofreading, revision, correction of editorial content
  • Support for updating web content in conjunction with other departments
  • Video transcription
  • Search for iconographic material
  • Management of web article translation needs
  • Monitoring new trends and editorial proposals
  • Participation in discussions and department meetings

Support for the Press Relations Officer

  • Support for press relations management according to needs: organization of interview requests, collection of information, follow-up of interviews
  • Press coverage: collection of press coverage, monitoring and updating of the document centralizing press coverage
  • Identification (mapping) of journalists and media. Creation of lists on the press relations management tool (Luqi).
  • Support for press relations on social networks: identification of journalists/accounts, monitoring of mentions, monitoring.
  • Analysis of press coverage and creation of ad hoc press reviews

Occasional tasks:

  • Support during the organization of internal or external events by the Development and Communication department: debates, press conferences, screenings, etc.
  • Participation in crisis communication, particularly during humanitarian emergencies

Internship contributions:

  • Discover how the headquarters of an NGO works and relations with the field
  • Discover the different professions of SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL in the field and at headquarters
  • Understand the humanitarian issues of the NGO and its partners
  • Participate in the implementation of the Communication strategy of a humanitarian NGO
  • Learn about the procedures in place within the NGO
  • Practice and perfect your editorial skills
  • Understand how relations between journalists and NGOs work
  • Evolve in a multicultural environment

YOUR PROFILE

Training, skills and qualities

  • Higher education (minimum bac +3 level) in journalism, communication, international law or humanitarian project management
  • Very good writing skills
  • Perfect French and fluent English (written and spoken)
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize
  • Autonomy, rigor, organization, efficiency
  • Team spirit
  • Real interest and motivation for associations and humanitarian work
  • Computers: Windows (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet and social networks, email (Outlook)

IF WILL OFFER YOU THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS

  • Internship based at the SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL headquarters in Clichy (92), Clichy Town Hall metro station
  • Intern with mandatory internship agreement.
  • Bonus: 4.90 euros/hour
  • The bonus is calculated in proportion to the actual hours of attendance over the month. (On average 1 month = 154 hours, or 22 days of 7 hours/day)
  • Possibility of teleworking: 4 or 12 days of teleworking per month. In accordance with the Teleworking Charter in force and the tutor.
  • Public transport covered at 50% by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL
  • Restaurant tickets at €8.90/effective day of training, with 60% participation from SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL
