Finn Church Aid (FCA) is seeking for an Education and Research Associate and Team Lead for a fixed-term employment. This position contributes to coordination needs in the FCA Research activities, supports growing thematic field of Right to Quality Education and person leads a small team that consists of expert members from the thematic fields of education and livelihoods. The Education and Research Associate and Team Lead will report to Deputy Executive Director.
The position is located in Helsinki, Finland.
Remote work is possible from FCA programme countries, and from Sweden, Estonia, France, Spain and Austria, all subject to an existing valid work permit in that country. Remote work from another location in Europe can be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to valid work permit. This is not an expat position and terms of employment for locally hired employees in Finland will be applied. Due to the coordination reason and nature of the work, candidates with presence in Finland are given a priority.
Areas of responsibility:
- Leading a team that consists of experts from the thematic areas of Right to Livelihoods and Right to Quality Education
- Assisting the Department Director in various duties, including close collaboration with other team leaders in the department
- Coordination of FCA’s Research activities, including preparations of FCA Research Coordination Group Meetings, reporting, internal and external communication, relationship building with Finnish and foreign universities and liaising with students and researchers.
- Supporting the growing thematic field of Quality Education, working closely with thematic and regional advisor – specific task division will be decided based on the overall competencies in the team.
- Support digitalization of FCA’s thematic work
Competence and Personal Requirements:
- Master’s degree in suitable area
- Relevant international experience in the education sector, as well as in the research
- Proven experience of developing work practices and leading or facilitating teams
- Solid understanding of development co-operation and humanitarian assistance
- Good coordination & facilitation skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, networking and team-work skills in a multicultural environment
- Oral and written command of English on professional level for communication, documentation and reporting
The position will be filled as soon as possible and it is a fixed-term employment until 31.12.2024 with six-month probation period. The compensation is based on FCA salary scale and the candidate’s level of experience.
