Job Overview:

The Education Assistant will have a supporting role in the Education program to ensure programmatic quality and manage referrals generated from the different programs: Protection, Health, Nutrition, Food Security, among others in Zulia. This position supports the areas with the accompaniment of partners and will be the link between the organization and the Educational Institutions, intervention communities, community leaders and is responsible for managing the follow-up of referrals and the derivation of the required services. The role is a key piece to build and support the intervention processes and response strategies of the organization.

Main Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of the Education Manager, he/she supports the implementation of the partners and advises on the use of the organization’s procedures and tools.
  • Articulates and manages the referral processes of the programs between implementing partners, local organizations and public bodies.
  • Provides advice and technical support to partners for capacity building that is aligned with the standards, guidelines and methodologies, manuals and instruments designed by our organization.
  • Supports partners in updating service mapping, taking into account the community mobilization strategy.
  • Receives, reviews and monitors monthly education databases (goals and indicators), including referral processes and feedback mechanisms, satisfaction surveys in conjunction with the Education Manager and M&E, reporting any concerns.
  • Consults the target population of the projects for the design and adaptation of the contents.
  • Coordinates with staff from other areas such as protection and health, to ensure attention is given to the needs of the context and partners.
  • Supports the efficient, documented review of monthly reports on compliance with goals achieved, as well as other regular reports.
  • Update education project implementation tracking tools such as: project work plans, program work plan, programmatic quality tools, mapping of services to partner programmatic activities.
  • Maintains effective working relationships and coordination actions with other programs and support areas such as HR, MEAL; operations, finance, security and with relevant stakeholders, and other implementing partners.

Relationship with partners:

  • Support in the follow-up of the process of referrals and service derivations between implementing partners and/or local organizations.
  • Identify the support needs of partners and provide them with technical support as needed, taking into account the guidelines in the PEERS manual for working with partners.
  • Train partners in topics and methodological processes, in accordance with the needs identified in the support provided to the territory and the current support plan.
  • Lead the design and development of spaces that facilitate gaming experiences and information sessions, creating a bridge of communication between the partners of the spaces and the organization.
  • Track delivery of education program planning by partners and monitor compliance.
  • Maintain an orderly record of focus groups and deliver a report of findings focused on the priorities of education projects.
  • Together with the officer, she coordinates comprehensive care sessions for children and adolescents participating in education projects.
  • Monitor community and school spaces to ensure they meet the minimum established play and educational criteria (Information board, PEAS, feedback mechanisms, suggestion boxes, games and toys created with alternative materials).
  • Assist in the collection of data from education partners, ensuring that the organization’s standards and protocols are met.
  • Apply quality tools to educational projects in territorial accompaniments, systematize and present the results to the manager and partners to generate agreements and optimize the quality of the program.
  • Support the monitoring of agreements and commitments with partners, ensuring effective, clear and responsible communication between the organization and its partners in the field, both at the programmatic level and at the level of support areas.
  • Manage activities and coordinate actions with partners and CIR team in field offices remotely.
  • Ensure that partner referral cases are reported promptly and addressed in a timely manner.
  • Support partners in organizing monthly technical committees, focused on addressing support needs.

Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning

  • Support monitoring and follow-up activities to improve the client (beneficiary) experience and evaluate project results.
  • Ensure that the feedback and complaints management mechanism is effective, managing priority actions together with partners regarding the results of these tools.
  • Ensure the functionality of the client referral or reference process.
  • Review regular monitoring data collection tools and generate input to obtain the data required for reporting.
  • Provide technical assistance to partners for the application of data collection tools in the field.
  • Consolidate data of interest to the programs necessary for strategic decision-making (children out of school, pregnant adolescents, children in need of protection, among others).

Coordination and Representation

  • Participate in coordination meetings with partners to ensure the flow of the service referral and referral protocol.
  • Participate in liaison, coordination and information exchange activities with partners.

Others

  • Report concerns or incidents to immediate supervisor, liaising with community leaders and other external groups as needed to maintain/improve the safety environment of programs.
  • Other duties, as assigned by the supervisor, according to project needs and priorities. to enable and develop referrals and referrals.
  • Generate significant contributions to the formulation of proposals to donors, providing quality inputs
  • Ensure compliance with the Safeguarding policy, child protection policy, and data protection.

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Professional in education, social work or psychology.

Preferred experience and skills:

  • Two (2) years of experience with non-governmental organizations in implementing education and/or protection projects.
  • Demonstrable knowledge in protection case management.
  • Knowledge of the Venezuelan educational system and the safeguarding of early childhood protection.
  • Understanding key child protection principles.
  • Demonstrate understanding in working with children and adolescents, and particularly vulnerable children.
  • Previous experience in training youth, adolescents and adults.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, effective in representing and liaising with external parties
  • Orientation to the final result.
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines and prioritize deliverables.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Venezuelan context and its care routes.
  • Self-management and ability to work with stakeholders.
  • Strong command of MS Word, Excel, Power Point. Design programs desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to relate assertively with clients and partners.

Work environment ***:***

• Geographic presence and work movements and program scope may change as the program grows.

• Frequent travel is possible.
