Education Consultant – WASHUP! At Sesame Workshop

seeks an experienced, mission-driven Education Consultant for an exciting project based in Maputo, Mozambique.

WASH UP! is a partnership between Sesame Workshop (content provider) and Counterpart International (implementing partner) that aims to promote basic healthy sanitation and hygiene behaviors among young children. It engages children through fun in-school to include afterschool club activities, games, animated videos featuring Sesame characters Elmo and Raya, storybooks, etc. and emphasizes empowering children to teach others as an explicit project objective.

More information on the project can be found at http://www.sesameworkshop.org/what-we-do/our-initiatives/wash-up

Initially launched in low-resource communities of Zambia in 2016, WASH UP! has expanded to more than 15 other countries throughout sub-Saharan Africa, South and Central Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America. The current opportunity will build on an earlier iteration of WASH UP! in Mozambique, developed and implemented through partnership between Sesame Workshop and World Vision.

To this end, the Education Consultant will provide support to WASH UP! expansion in the region around Maputo by leading deliverables in Portuguese and Changana, including trainings, meetings, educational content, and other written materials. Project orientation and training will be provided by the education consultant from the World Vision project in Mozambique. All deliverables will be overseen by and coordinated with the Sesame Workshop team in New York.
