The Opportunity- Education Officer and Support in Learning, Sarajevo based

ROLE PURPOSE:
As a member of the project implementation team Education Officer and Support in Learning in his/her respective thematic area is expected to organize and follow up on timely and quality implementation of the Education programming, ensuring achievement of the CO strategic intent in the thematic area as per the 2022-2024 Country Strategic Plan.
The role requires the implementation of the activities and is responsible for the direct performance that will support vulnerable groups of children in learning and developing skills to cross the learning gaps caused by different external challenges. This position will ensure support in learning for refugee, migrant and asylum-seeking boys and girls living outside of the transit centres.

Furthermore, the role requires the provision of general support during field activities, general office support and other ad-hoc duties as required.

In order to be successful, you will bring/have:

* University degree in a relevant field
* 1 to 3 years experience in teaching
* Fluency in written and spoken English;
* Excellent skills in teaching/facilitating and pedagogical skills
* Excellent skills in reporting and data collection
* Strong computer literacy and advanced skills
* Ability to work in a challenging environment, assess the situation and carry out immediate actions;
* Experience in working with migrant and refugees children;
* Experience in reporting and data collection would be an asset;
* Ability and willingness to change work practices and hours and work with incoming teams in the event of major emergencies;
* Ability to work under pressure, manage and prioritize competing demands and to meet strict deadlines with quality outputs;
* Mandatory clean driving license;
* Commitment to the aims and principles of Save the Children, including a willingness to abide by and enforce the Child Safeguarding Policy. In particular, a good understanding of the organizational mandate and child focus.

We offer a competitive package in the context of the sector. Contract length: Until 31.12.2023. including an obligatory probation period and the possibility of extension. This role is offered on the basis of national terms and conditions only.
