Overall Responsibility
Project Activator will be responsible for assisting and providing support to the Project Holder in daily planning and implementations of the project. The Project Assistant will be responsible for the Child Protection Network that would facilitate sharing of resources in prevention, response, collaboration with the partners in responding to the beneficiaries’ needs and protection.
Job description:
- Education:
- Promote and facilitate the achievement of the action planning output and activities.
- Assess the needs and priorities of the beneficiaries in the project with the project holder.
- Register families and children in distributing the project materials.
- Assist the project holder in the preparation and arrangements of any activity related to assessment and field implementation.
- Collect and enter beneficiaries’ data from field using data collection system.
- Participate in the field work and respond to the beneficiaries with good knowledge and relevant information.
- Ensure that attendees are all involved in the activity and that there is possibility for males and females to work both together and in gender based group
- Deal with difficult behaviors (conflict, aggressiveness, introversion, and understand the reason behind the behavior to positively communicate with the situation.
- Ensure children under her/his responsibility are not exposed to any form of Harm or stress during the activities.
- Support the project holder in organizing social cohesion events.
- Ensure good quality and accuracy of data collected on the field with continuous follow up.
- Report items needing purchase, repair or replacement and submit list of needs upon the approval of the project holder.(not AX)
- Perform any other task as assigned by line manager.
- Child Protection:
- Ensure children’s safety and protection:
- Work in compliance with and respect of the principles of Child Protection and confidentiality, working with refugee and host communities with sensitivity
- Identify key protection threats affecting the children and raise them to the CP Focal Point.
- Identify safety issues and follow-up with the project holder on the safety and security of the chosen locations
- Inform the project holder about any health issues that could arise among children
- Identify children requiring case management and ensure safe referral to case management agencies or service providers in coordination with project coordinator.
- Commit to respect the Islamic Relief Child Protection policy
- Commit to ensure the best implementation possible of the Child Protection Policy
- Commit to respond to any child abuse concerns following the procedures and guidelines on dealing with the child’s allegation or suspicion of abuse.
A.2 15. Handle tracking, reporting on activities and filing:
- Collect data on the activities organized and ensure that all the relevant forms are duly filled
- Ensure related means of verifications (MOV) including registration sheets, attendance sheets, SDQs, evaluation documents… are in place for each activity in coordination with the Supervisor.
- Administer SDQs at the beginning and the end of each cycle
- Fill and archive specific forms for referrals and weekly reporting, ensuring confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness.
- Responsible for data entry of beneficiaries’ details and do segregations, diagrams and charts regarding information
A.3 16.Other duties:
- Attend and participate in weekly reporting and planning meetings to ensure adherence to standards of care, quality PSS and referrals, and reporting requirements are followed
- Attend and participate in local and international training and capacity building events as needed
- Attend and participate in outdoor events and other organizational events
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- One- two years’ work experience in implementing recreational activities, psychosocial activities with children
- Capable of dealing with children who have experienced war distress (education in emergency preferable
- Knowledge on Child Protection and Psychosocial Support Programs
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to create and work as a team.
- Creative and able to come up, embrace and coordinate innovative thinking, and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of working with children and particularly vulnerable children
- Knowledge of English
