Education Project Officer _Safe Back to School National Contract (Bor Field Office):
The Education Project Officer will be responsible for leading in timely and successful implementation of the Safe Back to School (SB2S) project which seek to accelerate progress in returning children safely back into school. He/she will ensure that the project is fulfilling objectives and targets in the areas of teacher empowerment, re-enrolment and retention of children in school, school and community based awareness campaigns, WASH activities in schools and communities and advocacy initiatives at State and National level.
He/She will be working in close collaboration with the Education Coordinator, State Ministry of Education, community mobilizers, teachers, learners (especially girls) and communities in delivering the target deliverables of the project.
QUALIFICATIONS
University Degree in the field of Education, Program/Project Management or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential
- A minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience in the field of Education, Child Rights and Child Participation issues and ability to work with community leadership
- Demonstrable experience in project management.
- Computer literate particularly in Word, Power Point and Excel.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and other vernacular languages of South Sudan mainly Dinka, Bari, etc.
Desirable
- Experience in a similar role in an NGO environment working in child centered development programs.
- Good interpersonal and advocacy skills, flair for report writing, excellent public relations and ability to network.
Contract Duration: Three (03) Months
Location: South Sudan, Bor Field Office.
