Education Specialist At Save the Children

The Opportunity

As a member of the Program Development and Quality team, the Education Specialist will support the Education Technical Advisor in providing quality technical support to the different areas of Education programming of SCI in Lebanon. She will be providing support to the Education TA in program quality assurance areas such as technical support to field and partner level implementation of the program, capacity development of staff and partners and curriculum and common approaches analysis and contextualization, among other critical tasks.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Science or similar. Master’s degree is an asset.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English. French language skills are an asset.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in education, with an intermediate level competency in education planning and programming, both in formal and non-formal education and education in emergency.
  • At least 2 year experience in design and delivery of capacity building programs for staff and teachers.
  • Advanced level of reporting and presentation skills, with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to be flexible and adaptable in terms of work practices and working hours as necessary by the programme context.
  • Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches.
  • Excellent MS Office skills.
  • Experience working at the community level with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Prior experience as a Master Trainer and/or in capacity building or coaching of teachers.
  • Prior experience in a similar position with a local or international NGO.
  • Familiarity with key international standards for humanitarian work and education in emergencies (e.g. INEE, SPHERE, HAP principles, etc.).
  • Commitment to Save the Children values and Child Safeguarding
