Educational Coordinator At PLAY International

More Information

PLAY International is looking for an educational coordinator for its projects in Mayotte. The position is ideally scheduled to start in early March.

Location: Mamoudzou, Mayotte with travel throughout the island but also to the Comoros and potentially to Reunion.

PLAY International

PLAY International was born in 1999 from the idea that sport could be a catalyst for social change. Since then, the NGO has developed and managed education projects in more than 15 countries for the benefit of more than half a million children. This field action, often in precarious contexts, has allowed the NGO to develop an approach to sport that transforms its practice into a concrete response to an educational, social or health problem. PLAY International has thus invented new ways of learning, growing, or overcoming trauma. Today, the NGO is committed to developing the social impact of sport in France and around the world with a common thread: social innovation.

PLAY International in Comoros

In 2022, PLAY International opened a mission in the Comoros to support physical and sports education in the Comoros. Funded over three years by the Ministry of National Education of the Union of the Comoros as part of a France-Comoros Development Plan (PDFC) worth 150 million euros, the mission is developing several actions to promote the use of sports as a vehicle for active and inclusive education in primary and secondary schools. As part of the launch of a new project in Mayotte, Play International aims, from March 2025 and in a post-cyclone Chido context, to co-create or co-adapt educational content using sports games as a means of educating and raising awareness among young people to combat violence or address mental health issues, and then to train educators and facilitators in their deployment.
