Overview of position:

  • Chelsea Energie is looking to hire an experienced Electrical Technician for their power plant operations in Madagascar.

Role objectives:

  • To assist the Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance Supervisor in performing all the electrical maintenance activities for engine generator sets, auxiliary equipment & other machineries or equipment whether predictive, preventive or corrective maintenance based on the outlined procedures & in compliance with the established standards to ensure the proper functionality of it.
  • To assist the Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance Supervisor in carrying out all electrical preventive, predictive & corrective maintenance on the medium voltage & low voltage systems including the transformers.
  • To be able to interpret drawings, diagrams, charts & other special instructions for electrical of the engine generator sets, auxiliaries & other plant equipment to ensure a correct & fast troubleshooting in case of abnormalities.
  • To coordinate with the Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance Supervisor regarding the work plans in the area of job responsibility to determine priorities in order not to disrupt the smooth operation of the plant.
  • To comply with all Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) established procedures & standards of the company to preserve the integrity & security of personnel & equipment or the plant facility as a whole.
  • To perform other works that his superior may assign.

Project reporting:

  • This role reports to the Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance Supervisor.

Key competencies:

  • Must be a holder of the Diploma in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or its equivalent.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams & can do simple troubleshooting.
  • Had undergone on the job training at Mandroseza power plant for 3 months in the past.
  • Computer literate
  • Able to complete tasks on time with minimal supervision.
  • Must be a hardworking person & willing to work overtime.

Team management:

  • This role has no team management responsibilities
