Tdh :
Terre des hommes Foundation (Tdh) is the leading Swiss NGO focusing on child rights. It is active in more than 30 countries with development and emergency projects. Tdh focuses its action on the 3 following areas of intervention: health, migration and protection of particularly vulnerable children. Modern management and communication tools ensure the quality of Tdh’s projects. The Foundation constantly aims to improve its services.
Context :
In Afghanistan, Tdh has started its intervention in 1995. Since then, main projects have been focusing on:
- Children protection in emergency
- Health, specifically Mother and Child Health through outreach modalities
- Cash Assistance
Those projects, since they are targeting the most vulnerables, including the IDPs population, ought to continue under the new regime’s rules.
Other projects on other thematic, such as Access to Justice are under consideration, to be reviewed and adapted.
Responsibilities :
The Emergency Response coordinator coordinates the various Tdh emergency projects in the different program locations of Afghanistan. She/he supervises the project managers and is responsible for the quality and timely implementation of the projects – comprising all stages of the Project Management cycle. She/he is based in the delegation office in Kabul and is member of the Senior Management Team.
The ER coordinator reports to the Country Representative of Tdh in Afghanistan, her/his main tasks are:
1. Contributes to the emergency response strategy and supports its implementation
2. Supervision of emergency projects implementation
3. Support to the team
4. Coordination and networking
5. Child protection policy
Profile:
Education: University degree in relevant field.
Language: Excellent oral and writing skills in English. Other languages including Dari or Pashto a plus.
Experience: At least 5 years previous experience of seniority in an NGO at a management position in the field (expatriation) and in a similar context
Successful track record of developing humanitarian strategies and securing high levels of funding from institutional donors
Extensive project management experience (management, budgeting, grants management, planning, staff development and training skills) in emergency
Management experience, mainly functional management and coordination
Knowledge on Child protection a plus.

Salary:
Expatriate contract under Swiss regulations CHF 3’187.- < > CHF 4’066.- net /month according to experience x 13 times, Vacancy: 25 days annual leaves local accommodation and transportation, Health insurance, accident and medical repatriation insurance, return flight.
Tdh Global Code of Conduct and Risk Management Policies :
- Fully complies with Tdh’s Global Code of Conduct and systematically reports any breach to the Code through the whistleblowing procedure: raises awareness within the Foundation on abuse and violence and the rights deriving therefrom, respecting the rights and dignity of children, members of the communities and our own Staff
