The Opportunity

This is an exciting time at NetHope as the organization develops programs and services for the Member community in collaboration with partners. Working with the Deputy Director of Engagement, Member Engagement team at large and cross departmentally, they will help provide quality engagement opportunities to support the NetHope Membership by managing Member events and Member data to provide NetHope with engaging events and relevant information that can drive Member value.

Engagement Coordinator

NetHope is seeking an enterprising and relationship-oriented Engagement Coordinator to facilitate Member engagement and collaboration amongst Members, partners and other stakeholders via online, hybrid and in person events. They will help NetHope to offer a professional, engaging events to Members and key stakeholders.

The Coordinator must be adept at teamwork, building and bridging communications in a virtual environment, and maintaining processes and workflows. They will be the responsible for coordinating the logistics of a variety of Member events throughout the year from concept to completion, skilled at organization and have a strong eye for detail. They provide a layer of consistency and professional cohesion throughout NetHope’s activities.

This role supports the Engagement team to deliver high quality collaboration spaces and moments (both face-to-face and online) through the NetHope Summit, Working Groups, Chapters, and other similar Member Engagement activities.

Specific responsibilities include:

Support Member Engagement Services as part of Member Engagement Team for NetHope:

  • Support Membership Events to ensure efficient operation including but not limited to; registration, data tracking, coordination of speakers, coordination of agenda, presenters, in person/hybrid/online logistics and other elements for:
  • Annual NetHope Global Summit
  • Regional Chapter meetings – up to 8 a year
  • Annual ICT4D conference
  • Partner meetings/events
  • Liaison with other departments in NetHope to ensure cross departmental communication and effective advocacy for Member Engagement
  • Maintain high levels of data quality regarding Member information, contacts, and participation—specifically in the CRM, task management systems, forums and other systems
  • Maintain internal Membership processes and assist with onboarding of new Members
  • Support Deputy Director of Engagement on assigned projects/tasks under the umbrella of Member Engagement.

Liaison with Marketing and Communications Team

  • Coordinate website and similar content from Members
  • Coordinate Member specific email messaging

Liaison with Contracted/Member Events Teams

  • Coordinate with Members and their events staff as needed
  • Coordinate with NetHope contracted events teams as needed

Be a part of NetHope and its mission

  • Participate in team meetings, discussions and other activities to support the team
  • Participate in Member meetings, discussions, and other activities
  • Collaborate with entire NetHope team to design, improve and maintain an internal technology ecosystem that promotes and supports a digital-first NGO
  • Promote teamwork and collaboration through a positive attitude and effective communication

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Demonstrated success in project management, good record keeping skills and highly organized
  • Experience in event management via online, hybrid and in person. Global event management a plus.
  • Experience developing collaboratively, entrepreneurially, and nimbly in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Multilingual verbal and written communication skills a plus

Education and Experience

  • Experience with online tools and platforms, including cloud services and especially Salesforce, Asana, Zoom AC Events, Eventbrite, Sessionize, Pathable and Slack
  • Experience working with diverse groups over multiple time zones
  • Experience in external facing roles and providing a quality experience a plus
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in professional environment
  • Prior NGO experiences preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred or equivalent work experience
  • NetHope Member experience highly valued, other NGO experience a plus

Reporting and Working Conditions:

  • This position is a full-time position that reports to Deputy Director of Engagement and works closely with entire Engagement team.
  • NetHope is a virtual organization, so our team, our Members, and our Partners are located around the world. Due to the global nature of the organization, meetings may thus be required at any time of the day to meet with our stakeholders in varying time zones. To meet these needs, NetHope embraces flexible schedules for team Members, and we work with each other to be located globally, but still maintain a reasonable work time balance.
