English or German Language Teacher (volunteer) At Indigo Volunteers

We are looking for enthusiastic people who are passionate about teaching English or German to children and adults in the refugees communities to support their integration. As a Language Teacher, you will be primarily responsible for planning and running language classes for students of different levels, as well as organising other educational activities if interested. For some of our roles, in case you don’t have extensive experience teaching, the curriculum and learning materials can be provided to build classes upon.

For this role, you should be available for at least 8 weeks. There is an opportunity to also do this as an internship in the field, developing your teaching skills working with foreign students and gaining first-hand knowledge of the work of grassroots organisations in the area of education.

Accommodation is not provided for free, but it may be subsidised depending on the length of the stay.

Please note that Indigo and its partners are unable to support you in obtaining a visa. You should only apply if you can obtain your visa independently and show proof.

The minimum age to volunteer with us is 18.

Skills: A high level of spoken and written English or German, and good organisational and interpersonal skills are required. Previous teaching experience is an asset. Although it would be beneficial, a teaching qualification is not required.

How to apply

By becoming an Indigo Volunteer, you will join one of our amazing grassroots partner organisations in the field and support displaced communities around Europe. Indigo was established to inspire more people to volunteer and to do so responsibly; and all our services are fee-free! Learn more and apply at www.indigovolunteers.org/apply
