SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association which, for nearly 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters by responding to vital needs, drinking, eating and shelter. Particularly committed to the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death in the world, SI implements through its interventions expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and promotion hygiene but also in the essential aspect of food security and means of existence. Present in around twenty countries, the SI teams – 2,000 people in total made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at headquarters, a few volunteers, etc. – intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultures.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The primary mission of the Ethics and Internal Audit department is to provide assurance to managers on the way in which the structure protects itself from the risks assessed by equipping itself with a thoughtful, effective and formalized system for controlling its activity and to formulate recommendations for reinforce its effectiveness. This purpose is served by a wide range of expertise and responsibilities, guaranteed by the independence of the service. The service also guarantees the ethical guidelines of the organization and ensures, among other things, the management of professional whistleblowing mechanisms.
Placed under the hierarchical responsibility of the head of the Ethics and Internal Audit department (SEAI), the service assistant will work in close collaboration with the two department referents (Anti-abuse referent and internal audit referent) in the daily life of the department. its spots.
Through 6 essential pillars of the service: internal audit, internal control, classification and archiving, risk management and abuse prevention/treatment, he/she (non-exhaustive list):
- Participates in ongoing projects carried out by the SEAI service teams, in particular but not exclusively: review of internal standards and tools dedicated to the prevention and processing of reports of abusive behavior, establishment of methodology and tools for partner due diligence exercises implementation, setting up systems and tools for monitoring recommendations, etc.
- Assists in the review of internal control tools such as signatory tables and participates in certain spot verification exercises
- Participates in the organization of events, training, briefings and may be required to lead internal communications actions
- Support for monitoring reports of abusive behavior
- Participation in Due diligence processes of implementing partners
YOUR PROFILE
The tasks to be performed are transversal and therefore require autonomy, rigor and versatility. Knowledge, or at least a desire to understand the humanitarian environment and its constraints is essential.
The tasks described in this announcement are likely to evolve depending on the projects underway in the department as well as the needs of managers.
SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL undertakes to offer the intern a variety of tasks as well as internal training to prepare for departure allowing them to usefully strengthen their training/experience with a view to future humanitarian engagement. This internship is an opportunity to understand in depth the functioning of a humanitarian NGO, its constraints and the different approaches.
Training and experience:
- Higher education in the field of international relations and solidarity appreciated or any appropriate training meeting the required skills (internal audit, law, etc.)
Required Skills :
- Strong writing skills in French and English, advanced writing and synthesis skills
- Fluent French and English required
- Interest in the ethics and internal audit sectors,
- Layout, graphic design and visual creation capabilities
- Sensitivity to the quality approach in the implementation of programs
Required qualities :
- Real interest and motivation for associations and humanitarian work
- Critical thinking and strength of proposal, rigor
- Adaptability, autonomy and responsiveness (several files to follow at the same time)
- Comfort in using IT tools and more particularly the Microsoft 365 environment (Word, Excel, Power Point, Sharepoint, Access, Publisher, etc.)
- Relational ease and availability
IF WILL OFFER YOU THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS
- Internship based at the SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL headquarters in Clichy (92), Clichy Town Hall metro station
- Intern with mandatory internship agreement.
- Bonus: 4.90 euros/hour
- The bonus is calculated in proportion to the actual hours of presence over the month. (On average 1 month = 154 hours, or 22 days of 7 hours/day)
- Public transport covered at 50% by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL
- Restaurant tickets at €8.90/effective day of training, with 60% participation from SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL
