Expatriate Technician of our International Cooperation project At Andalusian Solidarity Development Association

We are looking for a person to join as a Technician or expatriate for our international cooperation project in the Dominican Republic

• Period: Immediate incorporation
• Location: Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (with internal displacements).
• Type of contract: Indefinite (subject to availability of project funds) with trial period. Employment contract under Spanish legislation.
• Supervision: Country Manager ASAD-Dominican Republic.

Position Functions

The hired person will be responsible for the following actions:

Project management:

• Technical and economic execution of the assigned project/components.
• Technical and economic justification of the project/or components under your responsibility.
• Monitoring relationships with counterparts and authorities in the context of the assigned project/s.
• Coordination with the ASAD headquarters for the processing of procedures related to the files under their responsibility.
• Monitoring the creation and implementation of information registration systems (indicators, verification sources…) and preparation of technical reports on the projects.

Accompaniment to the execution:

• Support in carrying out training programs.
• Promotion of the development of an economic area to promote business initiatives led by women.
• Support in international certification processes.
• Supervision of the development of business plans for initiatives led by women.
• Accompaniment to the brand creation processes of the initiatives.
• Contribution to the articulation of local and international commercial networks.
• Support for ASAD’s consulting actions and productive projects in the region.

Team management:

• Technical monitoring and support for local hired personnel.
• Supervision of the contracting of suppliers of works, equipment and services for the different projects and ensure correct compliance with the contracted services.

Support for country representation:

• Contribution of your specific knowledge to internal strategic discussions.
• Support for the identification and formulation processes of initiatives.
• Accompaniment to the Country Manager in visibility actions.
• Support to the Country Manager in meetings and coordination with entities external to the organization.

Profile

The hired person must meet the following requirements:

Essential requirements:

• By mandate of the financing entities, the person hired must have nationality of the European Union or a work permit in Spain, since the contract is carried out legally in said country.
• Higher university degree in business administration, economics or related career.
• University specialization in development cooperation.
• At least 2 years of work experience in development cooperation, with preference to professionals with experience in Latin America, especially in the Dominican Republic and/or the Caribbean.
• At least 2 years of work experience in economic development and preparation of business plans.
• At least 2 years of work experience in the formulation, management, execution and monitoring of cooperation projects and/or programs, having prepared technical and economic reports, with preference to professionals with experience working with donors such as the EU, AACID and/or AECID.
• Demonstrable training in gender and intersectionality.
• High level of Spanish (C1 or mother tongue) and excellent writing skills in this language.
• Excellent command of the office package, specifically Word and Excel (will be verified through a technical test).
• Commitment to human rights and specifically to gender equality.
• Commitment to ASAD values.
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable, as well as to work under pressure conditions and short deadlines.
• Good communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Labor conditions

• Position: EXPATRIATE PROJECT TECHNICIAN (full working day).
• Place of work: Santo Domingo with trips to territories of identification/execution of initiatives (various provinces of the country).
• Conditions: remuneration according to ASAD salary scale. DKV international medical insurance for collaborators and life under AECID conditions.
• Subsistence allowances and transfers: all subsistence allowances and transfers necessary to carry out the project activities will be covered by ASAD according to internal tables and justification regulations.
