Expert Estate Administration* At Welthungerhilfe

The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with a contract duration of two years. At the end of the initial two-year contractual period, there are good prospects for conversion of the contract from a fixed-term to an open-ended employment contract. Employment location will be Bonn, Germany.

As Expert Estate Administration you will strengthen the Legal & Compliance department in our organisation. You will be responsible for coordinated estate administration, partly in cooperation with the Finance Unit, and take on other general legal department tasks.

Your responsibilities

  • Comprehensive management (including research) of all estate matters
  • Review and monitoring of estate settlements and payments in cooperation with the Finance Unit and support in the preparation of estate-related tax returns
  • Communication with relevant parties/representatives (e.g. executors, co-heirs) in the context of an estate settlement
  • Preparation of the realisation of estate objects, primarily through sale
  • Supporting Welthungerhilfe Foundation in its self-administration and the trust foundations administered there
  • Development and maintenance of a contract database and corporate database (articles of association, bylaws, resolutions, etc.) for associations and foundations
  • Development and maintenance of legal models (e.g. powers of attorney, resolutions, confidentiality declarations, standard contracts, general terms and conditions) – if necessary in cooperation with external legal advisors
  • Independent processing of complex, specialised tasks with different focal points, especially in the area of estate processing

Your profile

  • A university or polytechnical degree or relevant training, e.g. as a notary’s assistant, paralegal, graduate or commercial lawyer
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience
  • Profound knowledge in the use of common MS Office programmes
  • Willingness to expand basic legal knowledge in relevant areas of law such as inheritance law, estate administration, general association and foundation law, general contract law
  • Strong communication skills, also in sensitive, estate-related contexts
  • Reliable, structured, process-oriented and diligent approach to work
  • Excellent German and good English language skills, both written and spoken
