INTRODUCTION
Micro Enterprises Support Programme Trust (MESPT) intends to register interested and eligible services providers for the provision of consultancy services for production of GEAP Programme Documentaries and Case Stories through the expression of interest.
The Micro-Enterprises Support Programme Trust (MESPT) has developed a niche in supporting the growth of micro, small and medium enterprises by providing integrated business solutions for sustainable development.
The Trust is jointly founded organization by the Government of Kenya and the European Union who later relinquished their position to the Royal Danish Embassy in Kenya, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark (DANIDA). It is supported by DANIDA and other donors. MESPT is the leading proxy through which development partners/ donors and investors can build the capacity of the business services sector and the agricultural sector in Kenya.
GEAP PROGRAMME OVERVIEW
The Green Employment in Agriculture Programme is a 5-year programme (2021 to 2025) funded by DANIDA. The programme seeks to contribute directly to Kenya’s vision 2030 and to one of the Denmark-Kenya Strategic Framework on accelerated decent employment creation in MSMEs and improved competitiveness of targeted value chains in agriculture which will contribute to transforming the economy towards a greener and more inclusive growth.
PROGRAMME FOCUS
GEAP programme targets 40,000 smallholder farmers and has been implemented in 12 counties namely, Kilifi, Kwale, Nakuru, Nyandarua, Siaya, Kisii, Kakamega, Bungoma, Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Makueni and Machakos. The programme has facilitated increased commercialization, decent employment, and green transformation through targeted interventions in seven selected agriculture value chains that include, Dairy, Export Vegetables, Mango, Avocado, Indigenous Poultry, Coconut, and Aquaculture.
Key workstreams include building the capacity of value chain stakeholders, increase productivity, facilitate market linkages and access to finance. MESPT will promote uptake of green technologies and services that will contribute to a greener economy as well as advocating for a regulatory environment in Kenya, promoting green transition in agriculture. OBJECTIVE
The objective of this Expression of Interest (EOI) is for MESPT to receive information from experienced production firms that demonstrate the capability and expertise to professionally produce high-quality short videos documenting programme milestones and case stories that reflect the impact achieved. The videos and case stories will serve as critical tools for documentation, communication, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring that MESPT’s impact is effectively communicated to a wider audience, including donors, development partners, government agencies, and the general public.
The specific objectives include:
i. Capturing and documenting key programme milestones in a compelling and professional manner, ensuring accuracy and authenticity in storytelling;
ii. Showcasing the impact of MESPT’s initiatives through high-quality videos and case stories that illustrate the transformation brought about by its interventions;
iii. Enhancing MESPT’s visibility and engagement with stakeholders through well-curated audiovisual content that resonates with diverse audiences;
iv. Creating content that aligns with MESPT’s branding and communication strategy, reinforcing the organization’s messaging and corporate identity;
v. Ensuring effective storytelling that communicates programme achievements and beneficiaries’ experiences, fostering emotional connections and driving support for MESPT’s mission;
vi. Developing video content suitable for various platforms, including social media, corporate presentations, reports, and events, to maximize reach and engagement;
vii. Strengthening MESPT’s credibility and positioning as a key player in the development sector by producing high-quality, impactful videos that adhere to global best practices in visual storytelling and production standards.
BIDDING TIMELINE
This Expression of interest will result in short listing of interested service providers who will be invited to submit financial bids. Eligibility to participate in the bid process will be determined based on submission of the minimum required documents stated in this Expression of Interest. After the deadline for submission of responses, Evaluation process will be conducted to determine responsive bids as per the evaluation criteria provided in the Expression of Interest document. The bidders who participate will be notified of the outcome of the evaluation.
EVALUATION CRITERIA
The Expression on Interest received will be evaluated in accordance with the set criteria in the provided Table as follows:
- Certificate of Incorporation/ Business Registration.
- CR12 for Limited companies issued within the last one year.
- KRA Pin Certificate and Valid Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority
- Valid Business permit.
- Company Profile of the firm indicating the contact details including physical address, telephone number, email and contact person on behalf of the bidder.
- Provide brief description of project documentaries done particularly in the development and non-profit sectors.
- Provide a portfolio of previous works showcasing experience in documentary-style storytelling and impact-driven videos.
- CVs of technical experts with relevant experience.
