FACILITATOR FOR THE ANNUAL REVIEW AND PLANING At Norwegian Refugee Council

  1. Work with the Consortium Management Unit (CMU) Staff and Consortium Partners to conduct a four-day workshop, including:
    1. Pre-workshop planning / agenda development
    2. Review of workshop agenda, materials etc.
    3. Develop presentation materials, design methods to maximize participation
    4. Lead and facilitate a four-day workshop in collaboration with the consortium management unit and partners’ staff
    5. Daily assign note takers and group facilitators
    6. Highlight key action points, lessons learned and recommendations that would inform current and future programing
  2. Post Workshop Assistance – provide support to post-workshop activities, including:
    1. Review and refine workshop notes to ensure these accurately reflect the actual discussion.
    2. Prepare workshop report on observations and next steps recommended, stemming from the workshop and submit the report within one week.

Scope of Work and Deliverables: In consultation with the Chief of Party and the consortium management unit the consultant/s is expected to provide the following services:

  1. Pre-Workshop work including:
  • Organize meetings with CMU to establish clear understanding about the workshop objective.
  • Preparation of workshop content, materials, presentations, activities, energizer, games
  • Propose workgroup formats and discussion to ensure maximum participation
  1. During workshop
  • Lead and facilitate four-day workshop through a participatory process involving staff from five INGO partners.
  • Conduct the evaluation of the workshop on daily basis and adapt the methodology based on daily feedback.
  • Assign note takers and capture and document workshop outputs on daily basis
  1. Post workshop
  • Debrief, wrap up and produce report on recommendations including identified constraints that might affect the implementation.

Competencies, Experience and Skill Requirements:

  • Advanced university degree in Social Sciences or related field.
  • Excellent analytical writing and communication skills
  • Extensive experience (at least 10 years) experience in facilitating trainings/workshops for humanitarian organizations.
  • Extensive knowledge of development and humanitarian programming in South Sudan.
  • Demonstrated high level of professionalism and an ability to work independently and in high pressure situations under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent inter-personal communication skills including experience of facilitation of trainings/workshops and presentation.
  • Proven and demonstrated broad knowledge of and ability to utilize principles, methods, techniques and systems of project management.
