Facility Manager (x/f/h) At Oxfam Solidarity

Full-time contract (38 hours), with the possibility of 4/5th, of indefinite duration – Brussels

Help us by putting your skills to good use! Oxfam is seeking to fill the position of Facility Coordinator.

Your place in the organization:

You will join the Oxfam Facility team which manages all of the buildings. Your work will take place between Brussels and Gent.

Your responsibilities:

  • You coordinate the renovation and maintenance projects of the association’s offices;
  • You organize and supervise the activity and motivate employees (5 FTE) of the service on the different sites (Ghent, Brussels, etc.);
  • You ensure the good general condition and the administrative and technical management of the buildings and the equipment found there. Notably :
    • You participate in the development of the annual budget relating to the work to be carried out and ensure its monitoring;
    • You organize the work by setting priorities (you propose the necessary human resources, companies after call for tenders, deadlines, etc.);
    • You ensure the implementation and monitoring of public procurement procedures and internal protocols;
    • You ensure technical monitoring and the smooth running of the work;
    • You monitor the compliance of HVAC technical installations (gas, electricity, boilers, etc.) as well as fire-fighting systems;
    • You ensure the cleanliness of buildings (interior/exterior), including pest management and manage waste;
    • You ensure security control of buildings owned by Oxfam (security devices, alarms and contacts with law enforcement, etc.) as well as all EHS aspects in liaison with the prevention manager;
    • You manage the workspace (workplace management) as well as catering;
    • You follow regulatory and legislative developments applicable to your field of activity;
    • You ensure the issuance of operating permits as well as the compliance of all buildings owned by Oxfam;
  • You work closely with your colleagues, including the prevention advisor.

Your profile :

  • You have good knowledge or experience in insurance, public procurement, urban planning and environmental regulations;
  • You have experience in managing technical building installations;
  • You have managed large, complex projects (renovations, constructions, moves, etc.);
  • You are structured, organized and you master at least one project management methodology;
  • You have analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • You have a strategic vision and have the ability to plan tasks;
  • You have at least 3 years of experience in a similar role with team management. You know how to guide, support and motivate a team. You also have skills in coaching and conflict resolution. Your behavior makes you an example to others. You have real people skills as well as communication and collaboration.
  • You have experience in administrative management of a Facility service.
  • You have a good knowledge of Dutch and French.
  • You have a higher education diploma or equivalent by experience;
  • You have the B license;
  • You share Oxfam’s values;
  • You live in Belgium.
