Field Monitor At Mercy Hands for Humanitarian Aid

Mercy Hands Europe (MHEurope) is a Geneva-based international relief and development organization that works to safeguard dignity, sustain human rights and build sustainable futures for people, particularly those who are the most vulnerable.

Mercy Hands Europe is a sister organization to Mercy Hands for Humanitarian Aid, Mercy Hands France, and Mercy Hands America. All together the four sister organisations are referred to as Mercy Hands Group.

Mercy Hands Group is partnering with Grace Initiative Global (www.grace-initiative.org) to launch a humanitarian aid operation for Ukrainian people affected by the ongoing military operations in Ukraine. This humanitarian aid operation is called “Alliance for Ukraine”.

Under “Alliance for Ukraine”, Mercy Hands Europe is seeking to recruit a Field Monitor.

Location:

West Ukraine or border towns of neighboring countries (Poland, Moldova, Romania)

Salary and benefits:

The remuneration will be 500 CHF per month.

Terms of Reference

You will be supervised by the Executive Directors of Mercy Hands Group + Grace Initiative Global and report directly to designated Program Officers.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Your main responsibility is to monitor and report on a daily basis the humanitarian situation of Ukrainian refugees/ internally displaced people (IDP).

In detail, your tasks include:

  1. Monitor the movement of Ukrainian refugees/ IDP within the area of responsibility (depending on the base location of the Field Monitor).
  2. Conduct daily visits to Ukrainian refugees’/IDP’s settlements and assess their numbers and needs.
  3. Monitor the flow of humanitarian aid and identify gaps in assistance.
  4. Facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid.
  5. Represent Mercy Hands Europe in regional or national NGOs coordination mechanisms and bodies.
  6. Submit daily sit-rep and regularly update the database of Refugees/ IDP Monitoring Matrix
  7. Submit a weekly article on Ukrainian refugees/ IDP with pictures from the field.
