INTRODUCTION
GOAL operates in Haiti mainly in vulnerable neighborhoods in the metropolitan area of Port au Prince and Jérémie. Since its arrival in Haiti in 2010, GOAL has been helping the most vulnerable people affected by disasters. Today GOAL finds itself in a strategic transition phase between emergency, rehabilitation and development. General description of the role
Objective: Under the supervision of the Financial Controller, the Finance Assistant will have the main tasks of managing the cash register of the Port-au-Prince office and assisting the finance department with other financial tasks.
Finance functions:
Accounting
– Receive payment requests
– Issue checks and fund transfer requests
– Maintain cash and check account books in required currencies (HTG and USD), ensuring all payments have been correctly entered and reconciled
– Submit monthly accounting with reconciled transactions on time
– Participation in the preparation of monthly payments from ONA, DGI, OFATMA and AIC
– Participation in the preparation of tax payments to the DGI monthly
Finance management
– Maintain bank and cash books
– Maintain and keep safe the office petty cash
– Produce a weekly petty cash report
– Systematically monitor account balances for their timely feeding
Financial document management
– Classify financial documents according to GOAL’s archiving policy
– Participate in audit preparation
– Support other departments in searching for archived finance documents
Communication and reporting
• Maintain good internal communications and relationships with departments and provide relevant information on time, as and when required
Compliance
• Become familiar with donor COMPLIANCE rules and apply them
• Understand and comply with each donor’s terms and conditions.
Other key functions:
• Perform any other related task assigned by your immediate superior;
Requirements: (Educational diploma and experience)
• Graduate in accounting, management, administrative sciences or in a field related to administration.
Key qualities, skills and competencies:
• Dynamic, pro-active and independent person to carry out the assigned work
• Good verbal and written communication skills in French – English an advantage
• Responsible, has integrity and knows how to solve problems and have the ability to manage subordinates
• High level of precision, attention to detail.
• Good knowledge and application of MS-Office, particularly Excel.
• Team approach, flexible and creative; willing to take initiatives where appropriate

Working conditions :
• Monday to Friday with the possibility of working Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
