Background
Hoffnungszeichen | Sign of Hope e.V. (SoH) has been active in Ukraine since March 2022 and provides humanitarian assistance in western regions. The SoH main office is based in Constance, Germany (HQ) and the field office is located in Uzghorod, Ukraine. SoH provides assistance to the refugees in Slovakia and to conflict-affected people in Ukraine through shelter, NFI, cash assistance and psycho-social support.
About the role
Under supervision of the Finance Manager, the Finance Assistant (FA) ensures timely and effective reporting, accountability and communication with the project partners in Ukraine and supports the Finance Manager throughout the project implementation in Ukraine. The FA will be based in the office in Uzghorod.
Main responsibilities
- Supporting collection and review of procurement supporting documents;
- Supporting the preparation of financial reports for HQ, donors and partners and its archiving in Winpaccs;
- Transfer of previous financial documents to Winpaccs;
- Preparation of supporting documents required for donor’s check;
- Supporting project administration (including operations) and communication with project partners.
Main requirements:
- University degree, additional qualification would be an advantage;
- Minimum 1 year of relevant professional experience related to charity / development work;
- Knowledge of financial procedures and basic accounting standards. Experience in Purchases and Operations would be an advantage;
- Good working knowledge of MS Office (Excel) and high computer literacy is required;
- Highly organized & attentive to small details;
- Good communication skills;
- Ability to meet deadlines, organize and plan effectively;
- Languages: Ukrainian – native, English – medium level (speaking & writing), ability to translate documents from English to Ukrainian and vice versa; German would be an asset;
- Flexible, patient and friendly mindset.
