Job Purpose
Reporting directly to the Contracts and Awards Specialist, the Finance and Awards Officer will be responsible for providing ongoing support to ensure that the Humanitarian Leadership Academy’s (HLA) awards finance activities are effectively monitored and maintained.
Sitting in the Operations, Insights and Planning team within the Humanitarian Leadership Academy, key duties will include ensuring that the HLA awards portfolio is updated and maintained, that necessary compliance and finance related standards are maintained and that relationships with key stakeholders within HLA and across other teams (e.g. finance) are built and upheld.

Main Accountabilities
The Finance and Awards Officer’s key duties will include:
Update and maintain HLA’s Award Management System (AMS) records, including:
Creation of records, including fund summaries
Uploading existing funding budgets into the AMS format
Following up outstanding AMS approvals
Amendments
Reporting schedules
Income schedules
Award close-outs
Support HLA’s interaction with SCUK’s AFIHUB Team (Finance), including processing:
New Sources of Funds (SOFs) and income schedules
Donor income claim requests
Report validation requests
SOF close outs
Work with HLA’s Contracts & Awards Specialist:
Requesting donor signatures & HLA countersignatures for HLA contracting
Reviewing (SCUK internal) outstanding debt reports
Claiming awards income
Supporting HLA procurement activities
Updating and maintaining HLA’s income tracker
Supporting updates to HLA’s monthly staff salary recharge tracker
Requesting information and supporting documents from HLAE trading company partners
Claiming HLAE trading income
General HLA Operations / Finance Support:
Processing of requisitions and purchase orders on SCUK’s Agresso Web
Raising sundry income requests on Agresso Web
Recode requests
Creation of budget DEAs
Documentation management (storage & management of contracts / awards / finance information)
New suppliers forms processing
Addressing supplier payment issues
Completing HLA partner Dow Jones vetting checks via SCUK Legal’s Compliance team
Person Profile
Experience
Numerate with the ability to monitor and manage financial information
Familiarity with funding budgets, financial reporting including construction and monitoring of budgets
Highly computer literate and confident with MS Office, especially Excel
Analytical skills with the ability to identify key points from complex material or information.
Abilities
Ability to problem-solve and propose solutions for translating a variety of funding information into Save the Children system formats
Ability to effectively manage a high volume of data and information
Ability to work with people from a range of backgrounds and cultures
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships and collaborate both within and outside the team
Ability to have a high degree of flexibility and adaptability to respond to changing needs and priorities
