JOB PURPOSE
The Finance Coordinator (FC) will manage the financial operations of the global Nonviolent Engagement for Safety and Security Transformation (NEST) Project. The FC ensures compliance with donor requirements, manages project budgets and cash flow, and provides financial guidance to Country Programmes (CPs), promoting transparency and accountability. ensuring compliance with donor requirements and NP financial policies. The FC will oversee project budgets, cash flow, reporting, and provide guidance to Country Programmes (CPs) on financial management and donor compliance, playing a key role in ensuring financial transparency and accountability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Management:
- Implement financial systems aligned with donor requirements and NP policies.
- Prepare accurate financial reports for donors and internal stakeholders, including the NEST Steering Committee and NP global management.
- Monitor expenditures and cash flow to ensure alignment with approved budgets and donor guidelines.
- Identify and address budget variances, working with colleagues to refine forecasts and improve accuracy.
- Provide oversight of expenditure and cash flow forecasting to mitigate risks..
Grant Management:
- Provide financial oversight and guidance to Country Programmes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting as related to the NEST project.
- Review and monitor grant expenditure to ensure alignment with budget and donor regulations.
- Serve as a liaison with donors on financial management and reporting matters..
Compliance and Audit:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, donor agreements, and NP organizational policies.
- Maintain proper documentation and records of financial transactions.
- Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits addressing any compliance issues.
Accounting and Reconciliation:
- Collaborate with the NP Senior Financial Controller-Programmes and Group Financial Controller to ensure accurate coding and reconciliations.
- Oversee grant transaction coding in QuickBooks and review payment requests for accuracy.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations and ensure supporting documentation is complete for payments and orders.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Knowledge and Experience
- Degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or CPA qualification.
- Commitment to the humanitarian principles (humanity, neutrality, impartiality and independence) and the work of Nonviolent Peaceforce
- Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in finance, accounting, or grants management (preferably in humanitarian organizations).
- Familiarity with accounting standards, donor regulations, and grant management practices.
- Field experience in emergency or conflict-affected settings is required.
- Experience working in multicultural environments;
- QuickBooks expertise is a plus.
Skills
- Analytical: Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills; ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
- Interpersonal: Adaptable and culturally sensitive; strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Languages: Fluency in English (French proficiency is a plus).
- Financial Management: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software such as Quickbooks and Quickbooks online; demonstrated budgeting and financial management skills.
- Ability to interact confidently with and present detailed financial information effectively to colleagues and external contacts in verbal and written English,
