Know our team
Nutrition International’s Corporate Services (CS) unit is a dedicated team of Finance and Administrative experts with extensive global experience. The unit leads on providing global Accounting, Finance, Budget, and Compliance, Contracting and Procurement, Facilities management, and Information Management and Information Technology (IM/IT). Corporate Services teams are found in Nutrition International’s Headquarters in Ottawa, Canada, as well as within our Regional and Country offices throughout Africa and Asia. Currently, Nutrition International is seeking applications for a Finance Director, Corporate Accounting to be based in Ottawa, Canada**.
About you
You have an accounting designation or other technical/professional designation (e.g., C CPA, CA, CMA or CGA) and a minimum of 10 years of experience, with at least 4-5 years at a senior level in accounting and finance in a not-for-profit environment and managing staff. You have a well-grounded knowledge and comprehensive understanding of financial accounting and reporting in accordance with Canadian GAAP and ASNPO standards. You are experienced in leading change in a multi layered organization and drive process and workflow improvements.
Fluency in English is required. French will be considered an asset.
About the role
In this role you will:
- Develops and implements accounting and finance policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Oversees and controls all financial accounting functions at Headquarters, regional and country offices including AP, AR, GL, fixed assets, etc.
- Oversees the global banking strategy and banking arrangements for Nutrition International’s accounts globally in close coordination with regional finance directors and Director Budgeting & Compliance and CFO.
- Manages cash flow requirements for all Nutrition International offices.
- Manage the annual external audit process for Headquarters and country offices, including financial statements and note disclosures.
- Maintains oversight of internal control and risks relevant to the function including it’s reporting in accordance with the organizations risk management framework.
- Lead and coordinate the work of the team, including establishing a shared vision, a culture of effective teamwork among team members and other units.
