Location: Cairo, Egypt
Mission of the position:
- Provide financial advice and support to the Board of Trustees and National Management Team
- Manage areas of forecasting, budgeting, liquidity management, key figure and cost optimization analysis, reviewing operational performance
- Develop/ monitor risk management procedures ensuring ext. control mechanisms are in place
- Develop and implement internal finance policies/guidelines regulating processes as well as internal control in line with the organisation’s vision, mission, strategy, policies, standards
- Lead and supervise the national finance department
- Timely and qualitative data submission to the Regional/International Office in accordance with the agreed quality standards as set forth by SOS CVI policies and guidelines.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Management and Strategic Planning and Budgeting
- Manage the association’s overall financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems
- Responsible for the overall operations of the finance department
- Define the budgeting process for the Member Association and ensure that the budget is in accordance with the national strategic plan and federation requirements
Accounting and Internal Control
- Develop and implement an up-to-date documented system of accounting policies, financial procedures and internal control guidelines
- Perform regular internal audits in the locations/facilities
Financial Analysis and Reporting
- Define a set of key financial parameters to assess and steer the current and future financial status of the association
- Oversee the management and donor financial reporting processes
Funds and Risk Management
- Monitor and analyses MA’s liquidity status
- Develop and monitors risk management policies and procedures
- Provide analysis, advice, support related to financial sustainability, policy, accountability, transparency and governance
External Audit
- Select and is responsible for the contract with an external auditor
- Ensure the timely submission and responsible for quality and completeness of the consolidated Annual Financial Statements of the Member Association
Human Resources Development in Finance
- Lead an effective and engaged finance team to ensure highest level of performance and people development
- Support recruitment and selection procedure of national finance co-workers
Fiduciary and Accountability
- Responsible and accountable for authorizing bank checks, transfers, and employees’ financially related documents
Requirements
- University degree in the field of Finance and/or Accounting or Business Administration with specialization in Finance/ Controlling/ Accounting
- Minimum 10-15 years of working experience in the field of Finance
- Very good command of English, written and spoken
- Leadership experience (incl. recruitment, team-building, performance appraisal talks, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources)
- Good knowledge of local accounting law and tax regulations
- Strategic, analytical and process thinking abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, tact, a high degree of discretion and confidentiality
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment
- Positive working attitude and ability to work under high pressure
- Excellent MS Office skills, MS Excel in particular
- Knowledge of IFRS/ IAS
- Readiness to travel.
