DRC PRESENTATION.

DRC established an operational presence in Colombia in 2011 with a focus on Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA) and providing support to the conflict-affected population in the south of the country. With the onset of large mixed migration flows into Colombia due to the Venezuelan crisis, DRC initiated an integrated humanitarian response in 2018 to meet the urgent needs of refugees, asylum seekers, migrants, Colombian returnees and host communities in some of the areas. most vulnerable areas of Colombia, such as the coastal areas of the Caribbean (Riohacha and Barranquilla). urban centers (Bogotá and Cundinamarca), and Caquetá. In 2021, DRC opened field offices on the South Pacific coast in the department of Nariño and the northern part of Colombia in Norte de Santander.

POSITION GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Support the support service department at Catatumbo-Base in the various financial and administrative tasks to respond to the needs of the technical and program departments.

Main Responsibilities:

Financial and Budget Management:

  • Ensure data and transactions are recorded correctly and entered into DRC Dynamics.
  • Prepare and reconcile bank statements according to established weekly and monthly deadlines.
  • Prepare and reconcile the petty cash register(s) weekly and monthly.
  • Maintain files and financial records orderly.
  • Track contracts monthly and ensure all contracts are renewed, closed or paid on time.
  • File, scan and send financial documents to the Bogotá office monthly.
  • Correctly use the DRC Dynamics functionalities.
  • Carry out budget monitoring for all budgets assigned to the Tibú base.
  • Support in the preparation of reports to donors.
  • Support the organization of external and internal audits and requests for donor information.
  • Ensure the weekly accounting closing of the Tibú base and the sending of the “Cash Counts” on time.
  • Ensure the monthly accounting closing of the base within the established times.
  • Preparation and review of payments managed in the office.
  • Manage the banking platform.
  • Cause payments in the DRC Dynamics system and mount them to the bank, after reviewing compliance with DRC’s internal procedures, as well as the corresponding supports.

Cash management:

  • Maintain cash controls in accordance with established DRC procedures.
  • Monitor cash reserves.
  • Prepare cash requests to the Bogotá headquarters.
  • Carry out banking transactions.
  • Maintain updated daily records of transactions in the DRC Dynamics system.
  • Handling and managing petty cash resources in accordance with the procedures established by DRC.

Administration:

  • Act as auditor/verifier of the accounting and finance area processes at the base.
  • Comply with internal donor requirements.
  • Manage the documentary processes corresponding to the contracting.
  • Support the administrative process of recruiting and selecting personnel.
  • Support the administrative process of document management of the finance areas.

Tax management:

  • Support in the preparation of exogenous information.
  • Support in the requirements requested by the tax administration

Others

  • Prepare monthly reports and when required by management.
  • Follow processes and procedures established by DRC, Country Director and DRC Headquarters

EXPERIENCE :

  • 2 years of work experience with an international NGO in a similar role. High degree of computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel, Word, ERP (Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Experience of working with relevant donors (e.g. UNHCR, WRA, GFFO, ECHO, OFDA, WFP, DFID or
  • directrices BPRM)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills, excellent communication skills.

EDUCATION LEVEL:

University degree in Finance / Accounting / Business Administration or related fields.
