The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, working in more than 40 countries to provide appropriate assistance with a rights-based approach to refugees, asylum seekers, displaced persons internal, repatriated and migrants. DRC has been present in Colombia since 2011 with a focus on Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA) and providing support to the population affected by the conflict in the south of the country, but in 2018 it expands its operations in response to the Venezuelan crisis. DRC Colombia currently implements a humanitarian response focused on protection for Venezuelan and returned Colombian refugees and migrants in Colombian cities such as Riohacha, Barranquilla and Bogotá, currently also incorporating activities in the municipality of Barbacoas and Norte de Santander.
About the practice:
Support financial operations to comply with internal and external requirements and legal regulations, according to DRC and donor standards.
Responsibilities:
Accounting and Treasury Management
- Support in the preparation and accounting of payments to suppliers and/or service providers through accruals, checks (disbursement receipts) and/or electronic transfers in DRC accounting systems (ERP DRC Dynamics).
- Generate the accounting record of all transactions carried out by the entity in the DRC Colombia accounting system (DRC Dynamics),
- Support in the preparation of information for accounting closings in DRC Dynamics
- Support in the preparation of accounting reports related to banks, savings banks, income according to requirements,
- Keep track of advances monthly in accordance with the procedures established by DRC
Audit management
- Support responses to audit, if required.
- accounting documentation
- Maintain the file of supports, accounting receipts, extracts, bank books and cash
- Review that the accounting supports comply with the legal, accounting and tax requirements and procedures.
Document Control Management
- Support in the consolidation of the physical and digital archive at the national level (50% total dedication).
- Reports
- Assist in collecting, reviewing, correcting and archiving all donor financial progress reports
- Support the preparation of financial reports to donors and internals
Minimum required experience and skills:

Studies:
University student in the areas of finance, accounting, financial engineering, Technologist in the area of finance, accounting or administrative SENA.
Languages:
- Basic English – desirable
