Overview of position:
Our client owns, leases & globally operates more than 1,500 trucks of different configurations, trailers & workshop facilities throughout 26 country offices. Their fleet is deployed to fill critical gaps in local transport capacity & stabilize transport rates in the event of increased insecurity & / or sudden growth in demand, as well as pioneer new routes that, due to prevailing insecurity, would remain inaccessible to local transporters.
As part of our clients commitment to maintaining operational efficiency & safety standards, a comprehensive fleet manual has been developed, which serves as a guiding document for fleet management practices in country office operations.
The objective of this assignment is to review the existing fleet manual and provide technical input, guidance material & recommendations to enhance its effectiveness. The review process will focus on aligning the manual with best practices in fleet management, particularly in the context of managing large truck fleets for humanitarian purposes.

Over a period of 3 months, the consultant will undertake the following tasks:
Conduct a thorough review of the current fleet manual, including policies, procedures & protocols.
Assess the manual’s alignment with industry standards & best practices in fleet management, with a specific focus on managing large truck fleets in humanitarian settings.
Identify gaps, inconsistencies & areas for improvement in the existing manual.
Provide technical input & recommendations to enhance the content, structure & usability of the manual.
Develop supplementary guidance material, templates or tools as needed to support Fleet Managers in implementing the manual’s guidelines effectively.

Project reporting:
The consultant will report to the Global Fleet Operations Manager & collaborate closely with the global fleet team & other logistics units.

Key competencies:
Extensive experience in fleet management, specifically in managing large truck fleets in humanitarian contexts.
In depth knowledge of industry standards, best practices & regulatory requirements related to fleet operations.
Proven ability to review & revise technical documents, manuals, or guidelines.
Strong analytical skills & attention to detail.
Familiarity with humanitarian organizations & their operational challenges is desirable.

This role has no team management responsibility.
