Position Summary
Search is seeking qualified candidates for a Focal Point position to support the team manager and assistant of one of our key projects. The project will support local community leaders and civil society organizations in addressing relevant local needs in a sensitive manner, through a series of training and dialogue activities, and small grants. The Focal Point will be responsible for the day-to-day operations in the areas of implementation with the guidance of the Project Manager, ensuring that activities run smoothly and achieve high-quality results. The Focal Point will take the lead in organizing networking meetings bringing together a diverse group of stakeholders, supporting the implementation of dialogue sessions on pressing issues on the local level, in addition to supporting research and local-level CSO sub-grant initiatives. These activities are part of the implementation of a 10-month project aiming to empower local leaders and civil society actors to lead peacebuilding and conflict transformation, and working on strengthening their role in meeting local needs in a comprehensive method and constructive approach to prevent violent escalation of tensions.
Scope of Work
- Effective participation in the design and implementation of online training workshops to strengthen the capacity of the local leaders and CSOs in conflict transformation, project and organizational management, and other topics based on identified needs of participants
- Follow up with the project participants and beneficiaries to ensure the submission of their needed documentation, including narrative and financial reports and other supporting documents for the transactions made under the small grants scheme, to ensure compliance with Search and donor’s requirements
- Support the planning and organization of four local dialogue sessions in the target areas, bringing together our project partners, community members, and local influencers.
- Provide support to all project activities in the relative area of operation including design, implementation, reporting, evaluation, and financial compliance as requested and required by the project.
- Create and maintain positive and professional relationships with relevant stakeholders in the area of operation, including partners, appropriate community leaders, civil society actors, and marginalized groups.
- Update the team about relevant changes in context and the dynamics on the ground.
- Deliver monthly reports on implementation progress, context developments, and planning for the subsequent reporting period.
- Maintain regular written and oral reporting with Search’s project team in Search’s Beirut office.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Development, Political Science, International Affairs, Social Sciences, or another relevant subject.
- Minimum of three years of related experience.
- Familiarity with peacebuilding and civil society networks.
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
- Spoken and written fluency in English and Arabic.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational skills and attention-to-detail.
- Experience in online communication
