Food Safety Assistant ( Sucre ) At Save the Children

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Food Security Officer will be located in Cumaná, Edo. Sucre. It will be in charge of contributing operationally in the component of said sector. The incumbent will support the implementation of preliminary evaluations ( which may consist of interviews or telephone surveys and / or focus groups ) to identify potential beneficiary households. It will participate in food distributions to vulnerable households in the Anzoátegui / Sucre communities, as well as in the preparation of all the materials and supplies necessary for them. In turn, it will participate in the implementation of final evaluations of the project in conjunction with the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning area ( MERA ).

To be successful you must comply with the following:

  • Professional studies and / or demonstrable experience in International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid, Social / Political Sciences and / or related.
  • Inter-institutional and inter-agency coordination capacities ( diplomacy ).
  • Knowledge of the public, private context and international cooperation in Venezuela.
  • Capacities to interact with national, local authorities and other humanitarian actors involved.
  • Interest, availability and work experience in multicultural environments.
  • Flexibility, adaptability and availability to move in the identification areas, also in the interior of the country.
  • Management of computer tools ( Microsoft Windows operating system ) and office automation ( Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook ).
