As Food Security & Livelihood Cluster Co-Coordinatoryou will work alongside the Cluster Lead mobilized co-hosted by World Food Programme(WFP) and Food & Agriculture Organisation(FAO) to lead and manage the work of the FSL National Cluster, actively contributing to the achievement and tasks of the cluster to provide lifesaving assistance for the people of South Sudan through an effective response by partners. This involves managing more than 75 FSL partners active through South Sudan’s Humanitarian Response and helping coordinate a wider network of more than 150 partners implementing FSL in the country. You will provide leadership and work on behalf of the cluster as a whole, facilitating all cluster activities and developing and maintaining a strategic vision and operational response plan. You will also ensure coordination with other clusters in relation to inter-cluster activities and cross-cutting issues. You will serve as a fulltime member of the FSL Cluster Secretariat is responsible for representing the concerns and priorities of international NGOs at inter-cluster coordination mechanisms, accountable to the humanitarian system, represented by South Sudan’s Humanitarian Coordinator and the Humanitarian Country Team.
Requirements include:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Food Security or a relevant field from a recognized University.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in managing FSL projects in fragile contexts.
- Technical competence in the Cluster system and Food Security and Livelihoods sector.
- Ability to contribute actively and meaningfully to complex analysis and strategy formulation.
- Full understanding of humanitarian Cluster system including pooled funding mechanisms.
- Ability to apply humanitarian principles and enabling the links between emergency response, recovery and transition to development.
- Experience in proposal development and budget management a key attribute.
- Fluent verbal and written communication in English.
